mike. it is 5:19. an ambush attack. that's what investigators are saying about this shooting that killed two santa cruz police officers. investigators say sergeant butch baker and detective elizabeth butler were ambushed when they went to talk to sexual assault suspect, jeremy goulet, at his home. investigation found he fired five shots at the officers within three seconds, he continued firing at the wounded officers before taking off in their patrol car. he was shot and killed a short time later. santa cruz police officers will now wear pins that include the badge numbers of the two fallen officers. >>> san francisco baggage handler has a date with a judge after arrested for stealing from passengers checked luggage. 45-year-old george reyes is out on bail. he works for united airlines at sfo. investigators say he was caught in a police sting stealing ipads and purses from luggage. the airlines began investigating him after getting more than 50 complaints from passengers reporting stolen items. officers say he is cooperating with police. reyes is due back on court to enter a plea. >>> 5:20. a state assembly committee will look at a bill that could hold many
