once again, here's dennis murphy with "at close range." dennis murphy (voiceover): of the many details concerning the homicide of well-liked school superintendent keith reed, perhaps none was more perplexing than the murdered man's cell phone. why was the phone company reporting its location as harrisburg, pennsylvania, four hours southeast of the crime scene? i thought maybe it was a mistake. you know, no one knew of anyone that he would know in harrisburg. dennis murphy (voiceover): in the hours after keith's body was found, relatives frantically called that phone, desperate to get a voice on the other end. the sheriff was shocked on monday when one of them hit pay dirt. he said, i just called keith reed's phone, and somebody answered it. i said, what? that's a holy cow moment. oh, yeah. dennis murphy (voiceover): but it turns out the person saying hello was a construction foreman on a bridge near harrisburg. the phone had been found on some scaffolding, which suggested to detectives someone in a car had tried to toss the phone into the
