nbc's natalie morales reports from rio. >> reporter: rio certainly has had to overcome many challenges to be ready in time for the rio olympics. there had been lots of problems with infrastructure leading up to as well as the construction of venues. but we took a look at some of the venues. the good news is, all are reporting they will be on track or on schedule by the timetable of esrly next year 2016. the infrastructure is also being expanded here from the bus and metrolints. the city is getting wired up and ready to go. ri o for the game. the mayor here saying everybody expe ing >> put on a spec cular show. certainly rio and brazil, they've had a lot of experience hosting world events. everyone expecting t t rio will get it d e and then some. that it will be one of the best olympics yet. to deal with the security issue, the mayor says they areoubling down on security personnel. 85,000 law enforcement officials are going to be sn'eagid throughout the city of rio. so all systems are go here. everything on track. of course, there are still many hurdles before summer of 2016. but this t
