we have seen videos up and down new jersey, new york. it seems to be out con we had astabbed another kid to death in a high school last year. where does this end and how to resolve it? >> i dealt with this as a prosecutor for years. why the schools need to maintain a safe environment and it is the law, because the children are required to be at the school, a lot of school officials and police cannot do the job with all due respect, that parents shoud be doing. not every happens means the school is necessarily unsafe or unsecure. i just wish that when i was doing it we would have people, whether it was bullying or whatever no one would come until this was a disaster. >> bill: i mean there were always schools when i was growing up but i don't remember it being as violent as it is ust know abt it more. >> i think there is an element of both. we keep individuals inundating us. i think the schools are taking custody of the children to take responsibility as well. >> another problem you have though is when you have a heavy police presence then

new jersey has the bishop's produce would be worried prescription and since we implemented our new restrictions in march those prescriptions have decreased by over 15% in new jersey. it's working. we establish state sharing prescription monitoring program in 2014. we shared with our neighbors of delaware known else's sharing information is sharing information at the time. since then, due to the push from new jersey we have 15 more additional partners sharing information with us including our neighboring states, new york, pennsylvania, and delaware. is that prescription monitoring program working? back in 2015, we only had 198,000 cross-border requests into the system. in 2016 we had 1.1 million requests and in 2017 3.5 million requests. with this tool we can stop doctor shopping in film those across state borders and we will save lives. in 2011 we instituted project medicine drop to rid our medicine cabinets of these deadly pills and since 2011 new jersey is the first day to do this to collect 88 tons of the pills at over 400 locations across our state including our court-- corporate partner wa

the worsted new jersey with four out of five lowest performing ghouls in new jersey. we worked with the schools and effectuated the agreed-upon partnership working with the community to pick a dynamic superintendent. and began a school by school evaluation with the goal to improve education in every classroom. we closed schools that did not work and open three new charter schools and significantly cut back the wasteful central office fats. since these changes have been made and the results are astonishing. in five years graduation rates have gone from 49% of 70%. [applause] the dropout rate went from 21% down at 12%. that the dropout rate for african-american students have been cut in half. [applause] and to those who believe throwing money at public education is what will fix it, camden is the proof we do not need to change the funding we need to change the approach people need to get that through their head and camden is the proof.
