nicolle wallace remains with us.he assumes through muption thr country, the guy is a billionaire, they're not impressed by the new york-l.a. access debate. they're not impressed of hearing of a fund-raising deficit between the two parties. >> more important for trump, they're not worried. fund-raising is one of those things that exists in a parallel universe. politicians loathe it. the politicians i work for loathe it. it takes them out of the more honorable role of being a politician, to be in front of the voters, to be making their case. to his credit, that's part that donald trump relishes, being in front of the big rallies. having the ability to have a staff and execute and spread your message -- a normal campaign this morning would have rolled out an ad with some of the sharpest critiques of hillary clinton and they would have put it up in 10, 12 battleground states to reenforce the candidate's message and abstain from doing other media. they would want the speech to carry the day and the paid media to echo it.

"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us from the cbs-3 satellite center more on that, justin? >> nicole, brooke, good morning, day two of their probe, federal investigators are piecing together more about omar mateen. he is the man officials say opened fire, inside the pulled night club sunday morning, and he's also someone whose name nef ' seen before. >> omar mateen age 29 shot dead in a stand-off with law enforcement sunday morning has been on the fed's radar at least twice before. in 2013, his then co-workers say he made comments tying himself to terrorism, and claimed he knew the tsarnaev brother. >> including interviews of witnesses, physical surveillance, and records check. >> fbi officials interviewed mateen but found no credible tie. the next year, he again drew their attention. >> in 2014 mateen again came to the attention of the fbi because of possible ties to salah, american suicide

brooke, nicole, back into you. >> thanks, justin.n roxborough, bells told for the orlando shooting victims. at saint timothy e physical tow church the bells rang out once for each person killed in the attack. now, investigators are revealing more about what they've learned about that gunman. sources tell cbs news that omar mateen was active on social media and the internet. the fbi found evidence he may have researched disney world as a possible target before choosing the pulls night club. mateen has been on the fbi radar in the fast, in fact, may 2013 co-workers explained he was boasting of family connection toss al quaida and he was a member of hezbollah. two separate fbi investigations cleared mateen, the gunman's ex-wife told cnn that he was unstable. >> and in the beginning i thought maybe it was just that, and that was just part of his personality, and, you know, he is just a very difficult person but then the incident began involving into physical abuse toward me. >> mateen's ex-wife said her ex-husband's instability was evide
