in north baltimore, kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the snow, a lot of people by surprise this morning-- the snow caught a lot of people by surprise. >> the timing, as kim was saying, if you get a little of snow like that in the middle of the day, who cares? a dusting of snow during the rush hour on a friday? this is of the radar booked early this morning when we were talking about is moving through. moving quickly to the east over central maryland and some spots to the south and east, the eastern shore and parts of anne arundel county and over towards dover, the snow was moderate to heavy at times. they picked up quite a bit in the locations. this was at 4:30 a.m. watch how quickly it zips out of there. for most of the day, the story with the wind and cold on the back side of the departing, fast-moving system. how much snow? typically about 0.5-1 inch. officially at bwi marshall airport, there reported only a trace of snow. not sure how that happened, but that is the official. dover, delaware, almost 6 inches. certainly the main impact was south of baltimore and moving quickly through

it's possible that some of the showers, especially north and west of baltimore could be briefly mixed with sleet or snow. then we get out of that situation and rain showers through the day as a main storm moves north. this is friday night. just past the evening rush. snow will start to change over and wrap around the back side of the system. we will get that brief burst in here, friday night into early saturday. clearing for the day on saturday. saturday morning to the extent you will see accumulations you will wake up through the early saturday morning. two different storms, they will pha section together and this is the larger system of the two. it'll be enhanced by the storm out of the north. friday night the main time frame and saturday morning, blizzard conditions from new york city north, philadelphia will be a tough call, looks like wet snow there, maybe a half foot or more and for us we will be on the cutoff but it does appear we could get some snow. we won't get the snow totals up in boston and massachusetts, they are 20 inches plus. philadelphia could get a ten inch storm. h

well, city police are investigating a murder-suicide in north baltimore. police were called to the 3900 block of frisbee street in waverly last night and found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds, a juvenile in the home told police about the two victims. this afternoon, police identified the female victim as 34-year-old candace baird. the male victim has has been identified. but police are not releasing his identity. >>> a body is found in the aftermath of a massive explosion in kansas city, missouri. adriana diaz reports for we'll, firefighters are still searching through the rubble for more victims. >>> fire officials say they found a body in the blackened rubble of a popular kansas city missouri restaurant. police had not been able to account for at least one jj's employee after an explosion tuesday night. >> we cannot provide any positive identification at this point. obviously, it is sad news. >> reporter: officials are still searching the rubble to make sure there aren't any more victims. the blast damaged several buildings in the surrounding area.

the potential for slippery conditions to the north of baltimore and southern pennsylvania back west in the foothills of the mountains. the initial precipitation will be like because the system is split into two. baltimore really in between the two that will march of the new jersey coast and head into new england's. -- into new england. this is why the weather service issued the winter weather advisory. this is more of a nuisance coming at a bad time. we have those cold air temperatures north of pennsylvania. the hour banks of the n.c. -- this is the warm, moist -- the outer banks of north carolina, this is the warm, moist air. as these two systems combine of the mid-atlantic coast, they become very strong. this pink-shaded area is a winter storm warning. the red there is the blizzard warning, and that is up for matra n.y. all the way up to boston. that will be the hardest hit area. there is the potential for two to 3 feet of snow in some of those locations. the storm will hit the new england coastal area. it will clear out after morning snow. watched this bull's-eye up near boston. tha
