we started this morning around 5:00, 6:00 in the north bay, and now we are seeing it in the north bayeast bayshore at times, widespread over the east bay. shift to the inner city east bay, rain falling alongside 80. over towards highway 4, we have some there as well. areas over american canyon, just a few hit-and-miss showers reported there. santarosa getting some showers, roanoke park a few sprinkles there. out to the west, looks like you have it as well. we'll continue with that rainfall for today. anywhere from a quarter to a half inch expected, up to 2 inches when it's all said and done. more details on the wet weekends and the extended forecast plus snow in the sierra, coming up in just a few minutes. >>> thank you. let's talk about the federal government and what it is doing in terms of looking into an issue with a big order, $40 million in surgical masks that was supposed to go to hospitals. no one can figure out where they went. the health care workers union announced a deal for the purchase of the n-95 masks, which were supposed to go to hospitals and government agencies. but

the weakest one will be saturday that one is primarily going impact the north bay bringing about half an inch of rain or less but the rest of the bay area getting about a 3rd of an inch of rain or less. and sunday stronger storm is going to have a colder core to it so it's going to be a little bit more unstable bringing us the threat of not only widespread rain to everyone in the bay area but gusty wind speeds of 40 miles per hour or less and that threat of pop-up thunderstorms with hail also dropping snow levels like the highest peaks in the north bay as low as 3,000 feet so saturday we're going to see some scattered showers throughout the day but the bulk of the wet weather will impact those of you in the north bay by sunday though widespread light to moderate downpours and as you could see this one is going to drop snow levels along the north bay hills and mountains to about 3,000 feet and those showers are going to linger into monday of next week as well until we start to dry out during the overnight hours on tuesday. so rain totals with the storms looking pretty impressive. the l
