we're also joined by nyse floor trader kenny. great to have you here. thanks so much for coming in to talk about an issue so important to so many people watching. >> thanks for having me. >> it's hard for the little guy to watch the "60 minutes" piece to hear us talk about this issue and not think that the markets are rigged by high frequency traders. how do you combat that? >> it's unfortunate because the truth is the exact opposite. nobody has been a bigger beneficiary of the high frequency trading revolution than the so-called little guy, the viewers on your program. and that's because virtually every order that they transz act in the market that they submit to their brokerage firms is executed by a high frequency trading firm hired by that brokerage firm. talk about td amr trade, schwalb, all the firms around their flow to a high frequency trading firm that's co-located and has state-of-the-art infra f structure. the biggest beneficiaries by far of this trend is individual investors. >> many people would hear you say that including obviously kenny o

bob pisani is here with me again on the floor of the nyse. have been driven down, but do they deserve to be at the levels they should be? >> i'm glad our producer asked me to do this. we've been so obsessed with everything else. enough with it already. let's talk about the stuff in the dow industrials. the answer, sue, is it's been a mixed year. this is the core of what i consider industrials. growthr ge is having a rough here. the more international exposure, and the rougher time earlier in the year, those kinds of stocks are coming back. i want to show boeing. a lot of industrials look like this. boeing was $70 at this time, sue, it went to $135, and it's down like $10 off that high. my point is these stocks had runs of 30%, 40, some 50% and now we're all worried they're off the highs. just look at it a bit longer. what's amazing is how well the transports are holding up delta was $10 last year. it's 30 essentially this year. where these -- and now they're just a bit off. it was $10 the ble ginning of the year. and now it's $33, $34, and we

here's a look at the nyse on the opening bell. over on the nasdaq in times square.nergy and a bunch of kids. that's a good sign. today is tuesday, april 22nd this is "today in the bay." >>> well, good morning to you, everyone. i'm scott mcgrew. >> i'm peggy bunker. laura is off this morning. a developing story to tell you about after a routine traffic stop turned out to a bomb squad being called out last night. pulled over at 10:00 p.m. and he told officers, by the way, he had fireworks in the cab of hispihis pickup truck. they called in the bomb squad to deal with the explosive. this happened on mason street near marina boulevard. officials closed the area so they could investigate the device and ended up blowing it up. several businesses were evacuated just as a precaution and the driver was arrested. however, the story doesn't end there. officers just finished searching the suspect's house in this russian hill neighborhood to make sure that there were no more explosives. you can see from this picture here, rather quiet right now. chase cain is in san francisco ge
