bob redell is live outside of the palo alto police department. the student made the threat in a very public way. >> reporter: correct. the palo alto police department said this 14-year-old student made the threat online in the comments section of the police department instagram feed. that threat has since been taken down. but a sergeant tells us that in this post the teenager threatened to, quote, shut ungun high school which is where he is a student. someone noticed at around 6:00 last night and they connected with the school district to figure out the true identity behind the pest and at 8:30 they visited the student's home in palo alto and the student was cooperative and answered police questions and let detectives search the home and found no guns and determined the threat was unfounded and the student had no intention of shooting up gunn high school and the student is sent off for a mental health evaluation. and with today's climate of mass shooting we take it seriously. >> we understand that threats like this could cause anxiety for our com

for the peninsula, we also have a wide range in temperatures, from 64 in half moon bay to 83 in palo altosan francisco staying in the 60s today, and still some gusty winds, and some low 90s in clear lake, while novato today reaches 86 degrees. in pleasanton today we're celebrating the 125th anniversary, that's going on this afternoon, block parties going on, and it's going to be a warm start, but then cooling down, if you head there around dinnertime, it's going to feel much more comfortable, and also a nice evening. so we are enjoying some cooler weather. we have all week, but then as we go into the weekend, we're going to of some warming, especially in the inland areas. you probably have already seen it at the bottom of the screen that many of our microclimates inland will reach into the 90s. so we're going to peak at 93 degrees tomorrow, and then come down next week, look at next wednesday and thursday, that looks pretty nice, even though we'll have a hot start to the week, we will be cooling off, and in san francisco, no major changes here. we're staying in the 60s, with at times clou
