now, a manhunt in the florida panhandle and beyond. in the panhandle, cops are looking for more suspects in the double murder that left 16 children without their parents. investigators now tell us they are searching for several people, including 2 who were apparently dressed in ninja outfits during an attack. they say the men can be seen on this just-released surveillance video. it's kind of jumpy. it takes an image every three seconds. in it it shows the two crossing the backyard of the home last week, breaking into the rear of the house. and at the same time, several other suspects were breaking in the front. coordinated, precise, and deadly. the home outside pensacola belonged to burt and mellowed billings, the attackers shot and killed them both. they were a wealthy couple and known for sharing that wealth. even adopting 12 children were very special needs. they also had four of their own. and at home, at the time of those murders, nine children were there. as the intruders shot the parents dead. one of the billings adult children

shepard: 8 paras teenage suspects are under arrest in the panhandle. but they say they have solved the shooting of a couple with so many kids, we did not even know how many until today. we are told they were the parents of 17 children, not 16. most are adopted kids with special needs. thursday night, a group of men, including those dressed in costumes, were caught on surveillance entrances. the sheriff announced a new arrest. >> your response back to me was sheriff, find people who did this. it is my honor to their -- today to say we have found them and they are in custody. shepard: the seventh is a 16 year-old boy, and even though he has been charged as an adult, we will not identify him. police are still looking for one more personal interest. i and understand two of the suspects appeared in court today and one got a little chatty. >> his name is leonard patrick gonzales, and he is said to be the center of the ring. >> [inaudible] >> [inaudible] >> and they say that the seven people they have arrested were responsible for the murder. shepard: they sa

we have some big news out of the florida panhandle. six adults, one juvenile, now under arrest in the killings of a gulf coast couple inside their home. at a news conference this afternoon, well, here is what we learned about the latest suspects there. >> we are passing out to the press the following package. seven individuals are currently in custody, related to the murders of byrd and melanie billings. you will note one photograph is absent. the reason for that is, this individual is a 16-year-old juvenile. >> now, police say these three men, gary lamont sumner, fredrick lee thornton and donald ray stallworth are in police custody. the district attorney says all seven suspects will be charged with first degree murder in the deaths of byrd and melanie billings. the prosecutor revealed for the first time, a safe was among the items taken from the home. also arrested and charged, these three men, they are charged with murder. wayne thomas coldiron and len nord gonzales jr., they are due in court this afternoon. according to arrest warra

brian wilson again following this story from the panhandle tonight. brian, you have gotten some key information about this new evidence, too. >> yes, exactly how they found it. as we get this information, shepard, it sort of gets perfected as we go along. we know that they interviewed pamela wiggins, long-wiggins as a suspect yesterday, and when they charged her, shortly after that, they went out and retrieved both the safe and the weapons. what is not clear at this hour is whether it was pamela wiggins who gave them the lead or whether or not they talked to her husband, a guy by the name of hugh wiggins who said the safe was in a back yard in a piece of property owned by pamela wiggins. the sheriff says the safe was found in the gulf breeze, florida, area. that's all we know. right now it's inside the building behind me being processed. the a.t.f. is working with the escambia sheriff's department on the weapons to help them with that kind of information. shepard: we talked to the sheriff earlier. he said it's his belief that the killing of the couple

couple known for remarkable acts of charity was found fatally shot inside their home in the florida panhandle. nine of their 16 children, 12 of whom they adopted, were asleep at the time. well, late tonight, the local sheriff announced a fourth arrest in this case, which he says can involve as many as eight suspects and while robbery remains a motive, it's not the only one the police are considering. steve osunsami is in pensacola, florida. steve? >> terry, tonight investigators here have made yet another arrest in this case. they have arrested a man they believe they can tie to the scene of the crime, a person who they believe helped storm this couple's home. they have yet to explain all the events leading up to the killing. thursday night, the police arrive at the sprawling home of byrd and melanie billings to find a grisly murder. the couple shot several times in their bedroom. just hours before the murders, a school bus driver had dropped some of the children off after school. >> i let the kids off at 2:45 and mr. and ms. billings got them off the bus. they always dressed the kids really

this was taken at a walmart in the panhandle a couple of weeks ago. this man here is one that was arrested over the weekend and charged with the murder of the couple and the home invasion. authorities want to know who these two men are. they believe they might be involved, associates of this man who might have been involved in this break-in this alleged robbery in the murders of this couple at their home. we're finding out today that the children in the home, some of them did encounter the intrudes when they came in. some of these children have provided some bit of information to investigators. but really, everyone just so absolutely stunned at what happened to this couple after they've opened their hearts and their lives, adopteding a dozen children with special needs over the years and all of them living very happily, we're told in, that home. everyone very shocked, people who knew them say they were very nice, very doting on their children and woo do anything to keep them from being hurt. but again, no idea why this couple was shot, killed, murdere
