coast, we're continuing to track the heat advisory inland and abc seven news meteorologist sandhya patel is here. sandy. >> yeah. dan, that heat advisory got extended through tomorrow night, and that's because we're expecting another day of a scorcher for our inland communities. here's a live view right now from our east bay hills camera. look at the view. it is filled with sun and concord. right now is sitting at 99 degrees. you can see that the wind is pretty much light about ten miles an hour over 30 degrees cooler at sfo, where it is 67 degrees right now. but you do have a bit of a breeze. here are some of the other temperatures at this hour in the low 90s from san jose to fremont, 99. in livermore in the north bay, you are looking at 91. in santa rosa, 94 degrees in sonoma. that heat advisory until 8 p.m. tomorrow. there is a risk of heat related illnesses. temperatures in the mid 90s to the mid 100 seconds. if it makes you feel any better, we're not alone in this heat. look at the temperatures right now. palm springs 118 degrees. yeah, i know it's the desert. you expect it? but it'

let's get to meteorologist sandhya patel for exactly what we can expect. sandhya.eah. >> and ama and dan, we're going to notice that you feel that heat the second half of your weekend. tomorrow is going to be a little bit warmer. live view from our sky cam. this is up at fisherman's wharf. you get the unique views from the skystar wheel of how socked in it is right now across parts of san francisco and the bay. let's talk about your almanac. today's high temperature in oakland was 69 degrees. your average is 74, so you clearly are running about five degrees below average. like much of this week for san francisco, 65 was the high. your average is 70. so five degrees below as well. but that is all going to change come this weekend. let's talk about santa rosa. average high is 83. tomorrow you're going above average at 87 degrees. temperatures will continue to climb as we switch over to fall. and then monday will be the hottest day with temperatures in the mid 90s in santa rosa. high pressure is what's going to bring us the heat. it was a little warmer today, but you

so let's get to meteorologist sandhya patel for the latest. sandhya. yeah. and ama, we've got fog now starting to form as the winds are dropping off. we did get fortunate in terms of the fires. there was one near concord, but luckily we're out of the fire danger in terms of the winds. not in terms of critical fire conditions for vegetation. so live views will show you a very socked in emeryville, sfo and san mateo cameras. there is some fog from our exploratorium camera looking at the city as well, but it has been coming and going. taking a look at the visibility down to six miles and half moon bay, there has been dense fog in that area about a quarter mile visibility a short time ago, so watch out during the morning commute. here's what brought us the wind. area of low pressure going in across the pacific northwest, bringing them some rain. high pressure in the eastern pacific. we get squeezed between the two. the pressure difference between the two just funneled those winds right across the bay area and the state right now, as winds come down, the fog is s

meteorologist sandhya patel is here with a look at conditions out there. sandy?and dan and ama, let's take a look at the current conditions near the boyles fire. it is 76 degrees. relative humidity has been creeping up, which will help the firefighters. 33%. and the winds are relatively light out of the southwest, which is also going to transport a little bit of moist air through the region. 86 degrees tomorrow afternoon. so it's a cooler day. cooling will continue on wednesday, but you will notice that it warms back up middle to latter part of the workweek. now, as you will notice, the winds will remain pretty light through the night, so that should help the crews out there. but the winds will increase tomorrow by 5 p.m. we're looking at 23 miles an hour, and as you just heard, humidity values will come down once again, which will be making it tough for those crews out there tomorrow afternoon. winds right now 21 miles an hour out towards the delta near fairfield. we are expecting a breezy pattern to gusty pattern tonight. it will remain breezy as we head into 4

. >> all right, let's bring in abc seven news meteorologist sandhya patel now. and, sandhya, as of right now, we're not feeling that heat. but we are certainly going to have that heat advisory very soon. >> absolutely. diane, right now, consider the temperatures that you're looking at in the comfort zone. we have anywhere from the 60s to the 80s that is going to change dramatically beginning tomorrow, which is why that heat advisory goes up beginning tomorrow. it runs until wednesday night. all of the bay area is covered under that heat advisory, because there will be a moderate to major heat risk. temperatures will range from the low 90s to the mid 100 seconds. as you take a look at this graphic for tomorrow, that heat risk for bayside and inland communities in that moderate to major category, it will shift covering much of the bay area on tuesday as those temperatures rise. now, speaking of rising, it's going to get hot inland tomorrow in the upper 90s, right along the coastline in the 70s, as you will see. and we do have air quality that will be deteriorating

so let's get the latest from meteorologist sandhya patel. >> sandhya. >> yeah, it picked up tremendousts of moisture, and it was a powerful storm. so that is why it is still continuing to do catastrophic damage. flooding continues in the appalachians, the tennessee area. it was a historic and catastrophic storm that made landfall in the big bend area of florida last night as a category four, as i mentioned. now, here is the deal. it brought record storm surge record rains. some rainfall totals were a half a foot to almost three feet of rain across parts of the southeast. right now you see a closer view on live doppler seven of the rain with the circulation that just continues. they've already seen the rivers overflowing. flash flood warnings are still going for parts of the carolinas. they also have tornado watch boxes and flash flood watches. still going because there's another system that got into that area, combined with the moisture from what is left of helene. as we take a look at the storm reports hundreds of reports in the last 24 hours, we're talking about not only the deaths.

let's check in with meteorologist sandhya patel to see what's coming. sandhya.h, we have some nice weather coming, but as you may have noticed. >> good evening to all of you. there was measurable rain across parts of the bay area down towards the monterey bay. ben lomond, 17 hundredths of an inch. la honda 1500. we had trace amounts from napa to livermore. mount diablo 400. tilden park 100th of an inch. even places like san ramon and danville earlier this morning had a brief shower. looking at a live picture from our tahoe camera. and you see some clouds out there. but it has been snowing above 8000ft across parts of the sierra. you can see that here on our radar. and as we widen the picture here, certainly still some showers wrapping around the area of low pressure up to our north as we look at live doppler seven here locally. clouds are beginning to increase again in the northern part of our viewing area, and some clouds have been lingering across the southern and eastern part of our viewing area. most of the afternoon, but the sun did break through for some a

let's get to abc seven news meteorologist sandhya patel for what we can expect weather wise.ya. you know what it's going to be nice weather, but it changes rapidly on sunday. ama and julian, i want to show you first the earthquake conditions from earlier today. there was a small earthquake. it was minor, east northeast of the foothills and it was 3.4 at 315. this afternoon. now, it was certainly felt in a lot of the south bay, weak to light for the most part. but even parts of the east bay, san francisco peninsula all the way up towards the north bay a little bit, felt it. calaveras fault is what it was near at this point. there have been smaller aftershocks. live view right now, turning your attention back to the weather from our okay camera. absolutely beautiful. but you can certainly see that fog layer way in the distance. and that's going to be expanding. so if you're not staying in town and you're getting out of town, it is aloha friday travel forecast time in oakland as we're going to see 74 degrees, a little bit of fog and then sun tomorrow afternoon. there are chances
