it will get closer to the pennsylvania suburbs. if we zoom in, you see all this lightning, around lancaster, burkes, parts of the lehigh valley, into the allentown area. you see it across 176, 78, near allentown, and where the red is, that shows you where the heavy rainfall is. in this line of storms, which is in fact getting better organized, we can expect 40-mile-per-hour winds, small hail, lightning, and heavy rain. this is approaching upper mon montgomery county where we have lightning strikes developing, upper bucks county and chester county. it will be approaching the philadelphia area in about an hour here, but again, be careful, because we do expect strong wind gusts with these storms, too. as this moves mostly to the east-southeast around 35 miles per hour, west chester can expect it by 11:20. wilmington expecting the strongest by 11:38, and philadelphia closer to noon today. and as we go through the next few hours here, we're going to see conditions deteriorate in the philadelphia area. right now, at 70 in philadelphia. 1

storms in southwestern pennsylvania moving into south-central pennsylvania. those storms are trending towards the suburbs, into delaware, and south jersey. we could see not only lightning but heavy downpours. the threat will continue as we go into the afternoon hours. by 6:00 this evening, we should get a break before the next round of showers and thunderstorms comes through later this evening. there's some wet weather ahead today. a threat of some severe weather. the severe weather outlook shows the greatest threat is in west virginia and heading to the south and east. damaging winds, large hail possible in virginia, into delaware, and extreme south jersey. the farther north you go, the less likely of seeing those strong storm storms. we're going to keep a close eye on southern newcastle county, central delaware, and into southern delaware and south jersey for cumberland, cape may, and into atlantic counties for the threat of strong storms this afternoon and again tonight. it all combines to keep temperatures lower than they have been. upper 70s, close to 80
