you know, the governor puts the puc in place. i know the governor is very supportive of autonomous vehicles and technology in general. so but i think that the argument that certainly cruise makes is that this will be much safer than human beings driving and, you know, people won't be driving drunk, people won't be speeding. it's cetera. et cetera. that is much of the argument that i have heard. and you know, there are so many billions of dollars behind this now. it's really a freight train that, you know, is going to keep on rolling our cities, our cities, rewarded financially for allowing their streets to be used in this way. not that i know of. there is no regulation. there's nothing wrong. so i don't know how the taxing of these vehicles works or any of that. i don't i couldn't answer that. but you know, there there are no regulated options. and so there needs to be either some type of legislation or something so that there can be some regulation of these vehicles. i mean, we regulate everything else. we regulate lyft and uber

the puc says the water lines under fillmore street between green and union were seriously damaged by the runoff. they'll need to be completely replaced. the break also opened up that sinkhole. crews have finished repairing the sinkhole, but many neighbors are skeptical the city will properly repair those water lines. >> i'm no expert, but if they can get it so that it's not just a patchwork but really new pipes and better fixing than just a band-aid, i think we'll be in much better shape, and it will have been worth the wait. >> more than 100 homes and businesses were damaged by the flooding in the last several days. affected businesses and homeowners can file a claim with the city attorney's office to help pay for the repairs. >>> we're also keeping a close eye on sunol. tonight only the u.s. and california flags are flying at sunol glen school, or allowed to fly there, which is a k through 8 public school, the only school in that small town, which is near pleasanton. parents are now considering legal action in addition to recalling the board members who voted to ban the pride flag.

puc crews work replace abe miles of these sometimes century old pipes a year. but but, you know, leaks still do happen. many residents say they're relieved that it wasn't worse. luckily, we didn't get flooded or anything like that. so i mean, my driveway is completely buckled. the sfpuc spokesperson tells me the work fixing the sinkhole and buckle streets will take place as soon as the water main is repaired. but there's no estimated time for when all repairs will be completed at this point. in san francisco, amber lee, ktvu fox two news and a nearby restaurant still cleaning up tonight after flooding from that water main break. kingston wu the co founder of wilder on fillmore, says his biggest concern right now is mud and water that has not dried out just yet. contractors are surveying the extent of the damage, but the immediate plan is to tear out all of the restaurant's flooring . right now, from what we can tell, is the residual mud that's left over in the place. i would say like three quarters of the restaurant floor is covered in mud. what i'm fearful of

so this was my area as water conservation manager with sf puc. i outlined strategy one which is invest and implement demand management programs, and the puc rain or shine has long had a comprehensivi water conservation program for many decades. we have a mix of incentives and research and education to help customers use water efficiently. we have developed that based on best practices, studies we have done in the field, in you and developing technologies, and it has led and contributed to san francisco having the lowest amount of per capita water use in california, and we continue that program because we know there is still more water to save. we have a conservation planning process and program that's explained in the water supply chapter, but we develop every year, we developed a master plan to guide our conservation efforts. we formally update that every five years. it's posted and shared online in the form of our water conservation plan. but when we update it, we go back through and look at all the assistance measures that we have and forecast

is it puc or you all or caltrans? the puc will construct the project. the vegetation management along within the right of way will continue to be caltrans responsibility. we and the puc will maintain pieces of asphalt gates and fences that are constructed as the assets constructed as part of the project. the reason that i ask is because a significant amount of my district has close hundred 80 parts of 101 and caltrans has not been a good partner in maintaining that area. they've started to increase that more recently. we've really pushed them over the last year and a half. so i just wonder what your experience has been like with caltrans and are they do you believe they'll be able to fulfill that? i mean, it seems like there's no other option for you. the other option would be for them to pay you and have puc do the maintenance. is that something that you've considered ? um, no, no, it's not. and i do have john fournier from the natural resources and land management division here. his, his staff have have are responsible for the maintenance in that loca
