this is the area i'm talking about around charlottesville and harrisonburg and around roanoke. a lot of lightning with these storms. now on to the storm that's going to affect us this weekend. it's going to take its time getting here, but here it is right here. this came through dallas with a vengeance. as a matter of fact, all of texas. let's take a look at some video. this was out of divine, texas, a tornado reported around the san antonio area. it did destroy about 50 homes there. you can clearly see that tornado. and now to dallas. this was the video out of dallas a little bit earlier, with major flooding. they need to see the rain. they don't need to see it all at once. some locations towards texas and louisiana will easily pick up between 4 and 8 inches of rain. once again, that rain will start to make its way our way, but it's going to do so very, very slowly. it's going to inch its way our way, and it will affect us, i think, this weekend. so get out and enjoy those cherry blossoms now. nice and warm, that's the way we saw things today with showers just down to our sout

already those winds have been up to 35-mile-per-hour gusts in charleston, west virginia. 36 in roanoke. 32 in state college. even though the winds will settle some tonight it's still going to be breezy as we go into the day tomorrow. right now there is a look at the weather front coming through the area. by the time we get to tomorrow we'll be well on the other side of this front, getting the sunshine in here. partly sunny skies. but again, breezy. then by the end of the week we have rain to talk about again. there will be a front moving back and that means the potential for more rain coming into our area late friday night and for saturday. then saturday is going to be more of a setup with north to northeasterly wind so could keep temperatures pretty low again as was the case last saturday. so for your evening we're mostly cloudy, some showers, storms. those will be moving out i think by around 8:00 or 9:00. these individual cells are moving out about 40 to 70 miles per hour and the whole front slowing down but should be out of here by about that time. 62 to 68 degrees your wind out of

nothing right around our region but just south of richmond around norfolk area and over toward roanoken back to the west this is the storm system that we are going to be watching for the weekend. i think pretty nice weather for tomorrow. fantastic weather on friday. then saturday and sunday, if you have plans to be outdoors, you may want to rethink them because this storm, a very slow moving storm, is going to make its way very slowly our way and it is going to sit on top of us pretty much all weekend long. there's the shower and thunderstorm activity just down to our south. if you're driving i-95 tonight you could be in for a rather stormy night as you make your way down toward the carolinas. mild weather is what we've seen out there today. tomorrow though we'll see warm weather across the region. there will be a chance for a shower. maybe a thunderstorm tomorrow but once again not expecting a lot in the way of rain. same deal goes for friday but still very, very warm. most of us if not all of us will stay on the dry side. but that's not going to last. watch what happens on saturday.

high temperatures go around the region, this is where they were the warmest. 72 in morgantown. 73 in roanoke. 75 in richmond. but up to the north only 59. philadelphia, too. we did see that cooler air come right on down from the northeast as is typical this time of the year. we do see the back door cold fronts. that's what they're called. normally our cold fronts move this way but this one coming this way. this was the reason. here's 58 degrees yesterday in philadelphia. on the cool side. here's our 82. we were very warm. a great day yesterday. but by late last night we started to see that cooler air start to move on in here and you probably noticed it if you were out around 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 last night it definitely felt a little more humid. it felt a little cooler outside. that's why today we only hit a high of 58 degrees. tomorrow cooler air moves back to the north. warmer air comes back. i think we do get back to 70 at least 70 in washington but to the west, and to the southwest, you will easily be into the low 70s while to the north and east should stay in the upper 60s for you folks. st
