a train hit a pedestrian at the randolph road crossing in rockville tonight. it may have started with a game of chicken. >> montgomery county police say this may be the result of a game of chicken. they say a 23-year-old male was out here near these railroad tracks with his girlfriend about 9:30 this evening. the arms of the crossing were down is what police say. and they tell us that the girlfriend told police that he's done this before, that he was trying to get extremely close to the train without getting hit and that's not what happened. they say that the male was taken to suburban hospital with a severe laceration to his leg as well as some type of hit to his head. montgomery county police say this is all the result of what they call a game of chicken. in rockville, erika gonzalez, news4. >>> one of the most notorious missing child cases in australia. a dingo did indeed take the baby. a wild dog took the daughter from a camp site in 1980. lindy was convicted of killing her daughter and spent four years in prison before she was cleared of the crime. there

it happened this afternoon at the whole foods market in rockville. the building was vented.e was required to go to the hospital. no word on who set the pepper spray off. >>> a car came crashing through a woman's bedroom this morning. the tire actually hitting her in the head. news 4's darcy spencer has the story from riverdale. >> i woke up with a banging sound. that's all. >> reporter: authorities say this woman was asleep in her bed when a car came crashing into her bedroom. she was wheeled to an ambulance and taken to the hospital. the woman fortunate to have only minor injuries. the car tire hit her in the head. >> it could have been a lot worse, huh? >> it could have been, yeah. >> reporter: the crash happened at about 3:30 in the morning at the chestnut ridge apartments on riverdale road. police are still trying to piece together how the car ended up in the apartment building. it went halfway inside. bricks came crashing down. a neighbor who happens to be a nurse helped the woman as she waited for medics to arrive. >> she was disoriented, yeah. i prepared an ice pack a

in rockville, 70 degrees now. the rainfall is not that significant, it is the wind. 70 miles per hour downtown washington. again, the wide area view of this ferocious storm that is coming through. here is the live doppler. calvert county, spots like dunkirk, there are some many people who have lost power that i would say if you are in front of this storm, seen the lightning and the wind coming through with it widespread damage, expect to lose power. i know that you do not want to hear that after hearing the temperature of 104 degrees and the searing heat, but the small positive is the temperature has dropped dramatically. we get the rain. unfortunately, this could happen again tomorrow with another line of strong storms. although i don't think anything like this will be happening tomorrow. once again because of the heat and that the humidity, with the temperatures again near 100 degrees, it is possible we could have another late afternoon evening line of thunderstorms. it is so unusual to see this at 11:00 at nigh

what can you tell us about that where you are in rockville? >> reporter: well, in rockville, this is a place that's been hard hit in term of the power losses and we did have them out checking the lines and assessing the damage. two-thirds was resz dents were without power at one point and they're focusing at first on political infrastructure areas of hospitals and police stations and fire stations and some residents are concerned with how long it's taken. we spoke to one of those residents and let's listen to what they had to say. >> we're without power. we're concerned and we've been talking to the pep co people and we're seeing trees on power lines which is also disconcerting. and so that one woman said she and her daughter would go to a nearby mall to stay cool. they're in the process, the utility company here, they're in the process of leaving messages for their customers telling them because of the severity of this storm it's going to take up to a week for full restoration of power to come back and you know that's going to be very, very i
