jason, rtd officials are telling people to be patient? >> reporter: yeah, but that's tough when you're trying to make it to work or the airport onim a line is running on time. we already saw a train that departed here a few minutes ago heading to the airport. the next one scheduled in about continue minutes or so. the bad news was yesterday. union station pretty much a ghost town. colorado, university of colorado a line sitting there and messages scrolling across the screen, trains are not running. there was a power line issue and that caused a seven-hour weren't running at all, just like it has been on and off really since it started. since april we've seen delays just about every week on the a line. we spoke to an rtd spokesperson and says they are still 90% on time, but for the 10% other people that's a big inconvenience. the delays earlier on in the week, rtd says we'll give you your next then it happened again yesterday. it's nnt just the a line. the b line also had issues yesterday. coming up we'll talk to frustrated passengers and

rtd let us know early in the 4:00 a.m. hour that severe delays need to be anticipated because of operational difficulties along the "a" line between union station and d.i.a. in both we have more details from d.i.a. it's a 15-to-30 minute delay that needs to be anticipated. apparently its issue was the crossing activation or the operational issues they're trying to repair has to do with where the trains cross so we're working to learn more right now and have a call in to rtd. they're updating on twitter and we are as well. ?newsmornings or #9news to keep updated. unfortunately, the university of colorado "a" lines are not the only problem around the city. we have a 270 backup here leading up to york street because of a major crash that was previously in the left lane that now has caused a 30-minute wait for folks trying to get across commerce city. you can see big backups south and eastbound, 24 minutes. the issue should get resolved and the alternate i- i-70 but there are no major accidents except 270. we'll talk about the
