saratoga 1.43, woodside on the peninsula's edge, just over an inch of rain. boulder creek in the santa cruz mountains is over three. kenfield 2.3. san francisco almost an inch of rain if not already. oakland three quarters. there's a lot more than that. maybe a little shadowing affect in the santa cruz mountains. gusts of 50. the wind was a factor about 3:30 in the morning. again, putting is likely here. i think we will have additional mudslide, down the trees. the heaviest rain looks to be maybe focus between san francisco and the santa cruz mountains. believe me, that could go anywhere. it should start to taper off after about 4:00. isolated areas of four to six, maybe even more than that for some. marin county being one and santa cruz mountains being the other one. there's a lot of moisture and the upslope flow could produce, as we say, copious amounts in the santa cruz mountains where you could easily exceed 8 inches . russian river, keep an eye on that. coyote creek for sure. by the way, that flood warning coyote creek goes through thursday. very deep mo

we have rain moving through the santa cruz mountains, near saratoga. that is coming down at a rate of half an inch of rain per hour. as he we go through the rest of the forecast, still seeing pockets of heavy rain through the main morning commute. before lunchtime, we will still have scattered showers. but it does start to taper off later this evening giving us a little bit of a break. still times of heavy rain in the north bay, overnight. and then we will see more dryer air moving in in between these rounds of rain and the potential over the next couple of days of getting at least another inch and a half of rain in the north bay. so we're watching the rivers stay like the guadalupe river at almaden. just below flood stage at 4:00. all of this moisture rolling into the bay area. the storm is not over yet. i'm keeping you updated on facebook and. make sure you're following me. and accepted me any pictures if you can do so safely if you see weather happening. the forecast shows we will be drying out just in time for the weekend. mike has an update on tha

. >> reporter: this is highway 9 outside saratoga and yet another mudslide called caltrans to close this road between here and skyline boulevard. always the highway goes over the hill down into boulder creek and sultan there are still more closures. >> warnings issued. >> reporter: this video shows the extent of the mudslide on highway 9. both lanes are closed as crews work to shore up about the road, but this is just one of the routes to and from santa cruz heavily impacted by the storms. highway 152 over hecker pass is closed. mudslides have low 17 down to one lane each direction and highway 35 is washed out. you can see the dramatic damage from sky drone 5. caltrans by its own admission does not yet have a plan to fix highway 35, but says it will likely be weeks, if not months, before repairs can be made. >> this is our community. this is where our neighbors are and to be honest i'm emotionally struggling with being cut off from this end. >> reporter: at this point it's unknown how long highway 9 will be closed and challenges getting to and from santa cruz county will continue. mark s

. >> reporter: this was not the first time that deputies had gone to eugene craig's home in saratoga.hey were familiar with the elderly couple living there. they had been there for two medical calls, two suspicious circumstances calls a vandalism and abandoned vehicle call. this time they went to craig's home for a wellness or welfare check but ended up shooting the retired homeowner inside. the santa clara county sheriff's office says that the deputies went to the home around dusk believing an elderly person inside had medical issues. the sheriff's news release says after calling out for 50 minutes deputies tried to force their way through the front door, could not and went through a side door. there they found eugene craig who displayed this .38 caliber revolver prompting the deputy to shoot craig where the navy veteran stood in his own home. >> he gave him verbal commands to drop the firearm. >> reporter: these pictures show the doors forced open and the bullet hole in the side door frame leading into the home and another shot that missed, a bullet hole in the home where the wife w
