scott peterson is serving life in prison for killing his wife and unborn son. but now, he's fully engaged in a new legal battle to become a free man. he left his cell in san quentin and now in redwood city. >> peterson's attorneys argue that the alleged misconduct of one juror made it impossible for him to get a fair trial. and now they plan to prove that in court. wearing a white mask, scott peterson sat attentively during court proceedings. he also wore a boot on his foot, his attorney says he was recently injured in a fall. today, a judge ruled on several motions in preparation for a hearing later this month to determine if peterson should receive a new trial. his legal team argues that juror seven in the first trial lied on a juror questionnaire, failing to disclose she was a victim of domestic violence when she was pregnant. >> this juror needs to be cross-examined and needs to be determined what her motives were for, one, being on the jury, and number two, why she lied to get on the jury. >> today, prosecutors said they plan to grant that juror immunity b

murdering his pregnant wife, lacey peterson and their unborn son. 20 years ago, lacy was killed when she was 8 months pregnant. investigators say that on christmas eve in 2002 scott dumped his wife's body from his fishing boat into san francisco bay. police eventually arrested peterson after massage therapist said that they began dating a month before lisi died. she said peterson told her his wife was dead. now peterson was convicted of first-degree murder for lacy's death, but his death sentence was overturned in 2020. he was re-sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole last year. but to have his conviction thrown out, peterson's attorney must show that michaud. the judge that nice committed misconduct and did so based on a bias to word convicting peterson. but peterson's attorney says that this is all very critical because this could determine how pierce its new trial will go from here on nice is expected to be in court at 10 this morning. back to you guys. all right. thanks for the update. will check back in with you later. camila 7.12, is the time. still ahead. >> masks could soon come off in the south bay. we're going have an update from
