i' m sean mcdonald. we begin with that major water main break on brown avenue that shutdowns avril street in the queen city -- shut down several streets in the queen city. wmur' s andy hershberger is live. andy: this water main break is causing a variety of problems. first is the traffic castle. this is the intersection of town avenue and south beech street. you can see there is a big hole that have developed. they are trying to excavate it now. traffic has been stopped coming southbound, going northbound, eastbound on south beech. this area is virtually shut down. also on exit 293, exit 2 coming northbound side of 293. that rim has been closed so they can clean up some of the debris that washed down that direction. ' s second issue is that 700 -- several hundred people in this area are without water. a main burst this morning, and tens of thousands of gallons of water wash suede is intersection. the pavement buckled, the road was shut down, and crews began to try to fix the problem. phil: what we are tr

i' m sean mcdonald. all northbound lanes are back open this noon but that was not , the case for 3 hours this morning. wmur' s ray brewer has been on scene and is live with an update. ray: sean you can see where the accident happened, right where those guardrails are damaged, you can also see some of the sand and speedy dry that was put down to improve traction and sop up spilt fuel. the accident was reported around 5:20 this morning. just as the morning rush hour was getting underway, this box truck rolled over completely blocking 93 northbound. state police say the driver 29-year-old joseph vachereau, had fallen asleep at the wheel, and hit a guardrail, his truck coming to rest on its side. the truck was then struck by car. >> upon arrival we had 3 patients reported all ambulatory on arrival. that was our initial size up. ray: the two people in the subaru, 9-year-old carmine macri, and 57-year-old annemarie macri, were both taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. the accident backed tra

i' m sean mcdonald. let' s get right to wmur' s jennifer crompton with the latest from portsmouth. jennifer: a serious accident has shut down ocean road in portsmouth. it happened at about 10:00 this morning. a red chevy somehow jammed under the bed of a tractor trailer from a building materials supplier. to the hospital. not clear the extent of his injuries. the tractor-trailer driver was not injured. state police are on scene assisting local with accident reconstruction. ocean road will be closed for at least the next few hours. police are asking drivers to avoid the area. in portsmouth, jennifer crompton, wmur news 9. morning crash in franklin. fire officials say a compact car and suv clashed head on in the middle of the roadway near south main street. officials say the driver of a compact car was severely trapped. rescue crews worked to extricate the driver for nearly an hour. the driver was med-flighted to the hospital with several serious injuries. the driver of the suv was also injured, but those were minor. the cause of the crash is now under investigation. there is also a
