so a lot of the activity in the sierra nevada. but overall we are looking at the dry northerly winds to the north of us. the moisture really to the south of us. so that's why the best chance of some thunderstorms will be here from monterey county. the possibility still does exist for dry lightning w the moisture, if we see any thunderstorms we should be some rain associated that as well. right now live doppler 7 hd shows a lost activity by fresno and as we take a look along the coast here. so if you are headed south, you will notice that this morning things are pretty active here, right on through the afternoon. through the weekend we are looking at santa barbara, l. a., possibility of the storms not only along the coast, but the higher elevations, and that includes the foothills closer to home. it's all due to this area of low pressure drift to go the south and west and setting up shop here. not moving at all right on through the weekend. in fact maybe even through monday and tuesday it stays put. with that counter clockwise flow
