here are some visuals coming out of the sierra nevada mountain range that will get you, if you are acited. i am a snowboarder. i want to see more of it. now of course it can be a headache on the roadways. i heard donner pass at the moment on i-80 north of lake tahoe is undergoing pretty rough weather. and our current radar at the moment shows the batch of precipitation. we have dropping snow levels. started out at about 8,000 feet and the cold front swept through and those have dropped down to about 5500 feet at the moment. so that means places like lake tau hoy ahoe and donner pass wi continue to get snow. to give a little light into why we use this strangeterminology, it's because we follow the train from hawaii. there's the west coast of the u.s., and that is our pineapple express. it has a lot of characteristics of tropical flow. that is our pacific moisture, it is tapping in and allowing for that deluge of rain from california to the pacific northwest. we also have a strong polar drift that's diving south that's allowing for the cold air to come in on the backside and transition

the sierra nevada continues to drop the snow. the winds are blowing. a northeast wind and scattered showers along the monterey area. and then we have the scattered showers towards the grass valley area and showers moving to the east and you may have gotten a few sprinkles in gilmore or morgan hill. current temperatures warmer than yesterday, 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. and as we head to tonight, that is the weather story here is how cold it will get. no freeze warnings or freeze advisories but we were kind of getting used to the warmer weather. el niÑo is producing mild temperatures. warm atmosphere and tomorrow that el niÑo moisture that is warming up is not around and cool and dry and santa rosa can go 35. 36 in napa and 39 in vallejo producing frost in the inland. plenty of frost and a cool start in oakland. 49 degrees and there's the cloud cover from the northeast. and that's the direct we are looking at. sunny and mild. mid 60s and the afternoon, you top off in oakland around mid 60s, something like that. 69 in fairfield and 71 in brentwood.
