. >>> now to the new developments on the massive gas main repair in south baltimore. bge is starting to restore service those of you in locu is, t point. after the break on monday we have been there ever since and now telling us how we are progressing tonight. >> reporter: finally going to start to cheap of loosens. they are patching up holes they had to clean up in the street when they were testing the gas lines. this point the homes in this part of locust point without gas should be restored during the course of the evening. let me show you. the break in the line has been repaired a while ago but for most of the day crews have been purging the system and getting it ready to take natural gas. they have been testing the lining all day and the gas could start flowing into homes right about now. >> repairing are done we will do a purge and that basically is just a test to make shrieving is operating correctly and there are no other leaks. after that's done we have about 200 people that are ready to go outdoor to door and relight and restore service to each customer that
