breaking news out of south san francisco, a fatal crash is shutting down at least one lane on highway 101 right now. turn it over to mike inouye for what's going on. >>> chp reported all lanes of 101 closed. but pete suratos is on scene there and tells us the freeway indeed is actually open. the slowing you see, folks are forced over to the right -- to the left two lanes as you travel southbound 101 approaching grand avenue. what happened is we understand someone hit something. they reported to chp they thought it was a large animal. it turns out it was a pedestrian, someone on the roadway without a vehicle will. there's one vehicle involved. someone has been killed, and we have two right lanes blocked. that's why you see the slowing. of course we're worried about the person and the investigation that continues. we're tracking that. pete is arriving on the scene and getting situated. your alternate is 280 to eastbound 380 getting past that incident. that's on one side of the bay. we have another closure but traffic is flowing well through oakland. i'll tell you what's going on for 880

we have a serious crash in south san francisco on southbound 101.freeway southbound is shut down near grand avenue due to a fatal crash and pedestrian hit on the freeway. i think it is south of grand avenue and the traffic will be affected. you can take the traffic off the freeway, go for a few blocks and get back on the way but obviously that will be a big delay for you. i would suggest using 280, two 380 -- go to 380 to get back on 2101. you will begin to see the problem near oyster point. we don't know how long this will be, and hopefully won't be too long because this is a major commute leaving san francisco for the airport. we will stay on top of this for you. as we go to the giro commute from gilroy to san jose traffic looks pretty good on 101 driving through morgan hill in the san jose and continuing into the main part of the valley. no major problems. the east shore freeway does not look bad heading to the maccarthur maze. the bay bridge toll plaza is light.>>> it is 4:13 am. >>> we have a cooler pattern today after a blessing weekend, espec

san francisco. it happened yesterday morning at colombia park in the south of market neighborhood. the baby girl was taken from her father's car when he turned away to make a bottle. a witness saw a woman get onto a muni bus with the baby. in less than an hour, the child was rescued at a bus stop in the visitacion valley neighborhood parents who go to that park say they are not surprised it happened there. (mark) the woman was found on the muni bus with the baby in her arms. the baby was not hurt but was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
