as that area of high pressure moves ', southwesterly flow starts to come in. as a result, a warming trend around here. our longest stretch of 90 degree days is only three in a row. we may have three in a row or four before the week is done. after a very quiet start to the tropic season, that is tropical storm ana right there. on her heels, that is now trical storm bill showing signs of intensification. it is a long, long ways away. how far away? 3300 miles southeast of washington, d.c. so this thing's a long way out into the ocean. the expected track on it though does need to be watched here over the next couple of days and could make a run at the eastern part of the caribbean in a four or five-daytime spann span. it will need to be watched because it could strengthen into a hurricane over the next couple of days. we'll have to watch very careful for that. clear skies and quiet leading to a little bit of fog first thing in the morning. tomorrow, bright and sunny for most of us all day long. fair weather cumulus clouds will be a repeat performance of those comi

we're looking at a southwesterly wind bringing in some warm, moist humid air across the region. tomorrow's temperatures are not going to reflect today's. however, we are still going to get pretty warm. but we're looking ahead now to the weekend, and this is what we're dealing with. we've been talking about tropical storm danny. danny intensified very quickly, went from a wave to a tropical storm but can't seem to get its act together. the center of circulation is way out here and all of these are just the surrounding thunderstorms that have not quite gotten their act together. danny is going to be moving to the north-northwest as just around 10 miles per hour. that has slowed down since the last update from the national hurricane center at 5:00. it is expected to move into our direction but staying far offshore, but as a category 1 symptoms, potentially after it gets past the bay. we could be dealing with a little bit of a storm surges but after the storm moves on by, danny in its rotation knocking a it lot of that back out of the bay slot be a very short-lived storm surge if an

winds southwesterly at about 10. let's talk about bill. already a very, very strong storm. 125 miles an hour. category 3. should be a category 4 by thursday. want to review what the categories are and i will post it on my website on my blog at wusa9.com after the show. track is still pretty consistent. category 3, 8:00 p.m. sunday. well offshore. this is a very, very powerful storm and very large storm. we showed you the satellite picture earlier. one thing we look at is this is what we call spaghetti plot. each line represents a computer model. the closer the lines are the more confluent, agreement amongst the models and more confidence we have in the path. these models are dead on for the storms. either way we are still not talking about a direct hit on the eastern seaboard, but even if it takes this track or this track we are still talking about some heavy surf and pretty big rip currents on our coast this weekend. trying to squeeze out one more weekend of summer saturday and sunday. bad for swimming, pretty good -- actually could be very good for surfing. even the surfe

we'll pump up the south-to-southwesterly wind.will add more heat and humidity and hold off this band of showers to our north. may clip western hills of maryland and central pennsylvania with showers and we could get clouds thrown in as we head through today. clouds of a different sort on down to the south, running 350 to 400 miles to the north/northeast of puerto rico. this area of interest that some early projections may have already a tropical storm status and likely to be named tropical storm danny today by the national hurricane center. that update will be probably coming later this morning until jeart this afternoon -- early this afternoon. by that point we get a handle on the storm. computer models trying to take it up the east coast, very close to ocean city by saturday morning. so interest along the entire shoreline not just for strong rip currents but heavy gusty rain leading into the weekend. today mostly sunny with a slightly more humid taste to the air and high, our two-degree guarantee of 90. >>> let's check the roads

high temperatures 90-95 and winds westerly or west southwesterly at about 5-10. so fairly lot. let's talk about bill. a category two already. gusts to 121. destined to become a category 3 by wednesday. let me show you this view. this is taking it north of san juan, north of dominican. north of the bahamas and turning it northwestward as a category three. we get into friday. winds and it's south to southwest of bermuda. the models are still very consistent. we're four or five days out. very consistent taking the storm in between bermuda and the east coast. if that were the case, it's bad news for bermuda. the storm is to big it will still provide it with some rip currents and some heavy surf by the ocean resorts. but all the high winds would remain out to sea. we'll watch it carefully. it's going to be a big storm and it's going to interact with the same cold front that sweeps across the east on friday. that slows down, it comes closer to shore. if it speeds up, it goes farther away from shore. so an interesting forecast to say the least over the next five days. satellite pictur
