let's bring in tammie souza. break down the holiday weekend. >> i'm going to start with the clouds on the satellite and radar. they usually come in from the north or the west. we're going to go to the north and the west. the lehigh value e lee, you can see things have clouded in. and it's still been a pleasant day in the mid-60s. 65 in philly. 65 in delaware. let's take a look at the temperatures out there. it's 59. walnut port in the 50s. bethlehem in the 60s. jux ta pose that with the jersey shore. it's a little cooler because of the winds coming on shore. summer's point only 54 degrees. across the area, it looks like tomorrow we're going to be about average. by the time that you get into the noon hour, you're going to be look iing at temperatures th will be in the 50s and 60s. we'll. top out in allen town at 64.

nbc 10 first alert meteorologist tammie souza is here now with a look at what we can expect this our thabd. >> if you're out and about in delaware, it's been a a beautiful day. blue skies. temperatures away from the coastline have reached nearly 70 degrees. it's been spectacular. we should typically be in the mid-60s this time of year. we have changes on the way. more 80s are ahead. but also a few thunderstorms and, yes, even some rain. on thursday we could see rain showers and also on friday. maybe some isolated thunderstorms. this is going to be widely scattered. it's not going to be an entire washout. then we get to the good stuff. that's the heat. 80s return on friday. 70s on thursday. it's going to be very pleasant out there both days. even with a brief shower. i don't think it's going to last all day. we're going to have some quiet periods with some sunshine as well. the weekend is is a mixed bag. sun on saturday. foggy and chilly on sunday. e we may struggle to make 60 degrees across the area.

first alert meteorologist tammy souza is in for us this morning and she is tracking those showers. tammy? >> gosh, you know what? we were hoping that today would be the dry day. i think we're going to get that tomorrow, so you may have to flip-flop your plans a bit. both days cooler than average in the upper 50s and low 60s. but as the doppler radar begins to sweep the sky, you can see we have some scattered showers south of philadelphia. if you're up in allentown and there's nothing going on right now, you might pick up a brief shower later that kind of skirts by, but for the most part, a lot of the activity will be in south jersey, the jersey shore, and delaware. in fact, that will be the case for the next three to four days. let's take a closer look at what's going on out there. right now, we have some scattered showers that are making their way through pennsville, salem, we are looking at grassboro with some showers to the north and pretty much all of this will head off to the north and the east. a little bit farther south, dover, you'll start to clear out soon. the same for riv

meteorologist tammie souza is tracking a wet weekend for us. tammie? >> yeah, we'll go with the good luck thing. i had thunder and lightning on my wedding day, and it's lasted, too. so there you go. maybe that is good luck. we do have some spotty showers around the area, so this is not a total washout all day, but passing showers and mainly cloudy skies. anybody who gets a peek of sunshine will wind up being north of the metro area. maybe the pennsylvania suburbs, on up into reading, perhaps even up into allentown. let's take a tour and see who's getting what. the showers are moving through rather quickly. clayton, you're about to get hit with a few light showers, same for deerfield. salem, you are seeing some showers. morris river, you're getting some showers. korben city, more showers are headed in your direction. and headed to riverview, just south of dover, we have a line of steadier rain showers that will make their way through the area. we had some thunder overnight, some lightning and thunder and some stronger little downpours. all of this is ma

let get an update from tammy souza. >> it looks like we are in the clear as far as the heavy rain. scattered showers continue throughout the evening but a lot has moved off the coastline and at this point i think we are going to start to see things receding. how much did you get in your neighborhood? that's the big question. let's look at the rain totals across philadelphia. some isolated areas got more than that. let take a look at what went on and to the north up in lehigh valley, walnut port, 1.9 inches. allentown, 2.29 inches. so a large amount of rain falling outside of the metro area. now we go to the pennsylvania suburbs, 2.2 inches in westchester. gilbertsville, 2.27. let's go ahead and look at what went on in new jersey. that's where i thought we picked up the heaviest amount of rain because they got that dense downpour this afternoon. 1.85 in pennsville, chats worth, 1.93. along the jersey shore we did get some isolated amounts up around an inch and a half. atlantic city, 1.46. and delaware, our last little trip, in wilmington, 2.47 and louis, 1.11. now you're probably wo

i am meteorologist, tammy souza. if you want to get out and take that walk you will be able to do it today. we will see the sunshine return. and we see the radar sweeping the sky, and nothing in the philadelphia area and down in southern parts of delaware we are looking at shower activity and the clouds are eroding away. you can see clear skies out in the lehigh valley. the upper portions of chester county, and this is happening quickly and philly will be in the sunshine soon. it will be longer for sunshine jersey and parts of delaware that will be the last place to clear. the rain is trending further south and we are sandwiched between a system to the north and south. we have pressure built in, and that h stands for happy weather. a lot of us will be happy out there for today. 43 degrees is the temperature right now in the pennsylvania suburbs. topping out in the low to mid-60s, winds will turn to the southeast later on today, and let's stop in new jersey, it's starting out at 45. we will be 47 by 8:00 this morning.

meteorologist tammie souza has more on that. >> we are actually looking at fast winds coming in now out of the south. they were out of the southeast earlier. they are going to shift off to the southwest. wilmington, 35 mile an hour winds. we get up to lathen, 17 mile an hour winds. you add to that the damages that were. we had snapped trees in northern maryland. we had reports of tornadoes in virginia. let's go ahead and take a look at what happened here in our area. we did have a couple reports of small hail. but look at this in mount laurel. we picked up hail that was pea-size. that happened this afternoon. and we a also picked up hail that was in washington township. and pea-size hail was 1:35 this afternoon. we had 35 to 45 mile an hour wind gusts. with this last batch of rain that came through. you can see look at the heavier rainfall totals where you see the shades of blue. northwest of tld head out into parts of montgomery county. now we're going to add to these totals and we'll have more over the next couple hours in all the newscasts, but it's going to be a soaker off to anybod

i'm meteorologist tammie souza. we've seen passing rain showers. even a few peeks of sunshine. and temperatures right now are firmly in the mid-50s across the area, with passing rain showers. a little cooler, though, if you're up towards mt. pocono. that's where we're seeing the 40s. the beam from the doppler radar scanning the sky and picking up these showers. allentown, you have some rain showers. cookstown, some. reading, you're in the clear right now. franconia and hancock, you're looking at some rain showers. philadelphia and over into cherry creek and gloucester, looking at some rain showers. chester, some rain showers. we get into new jersey and we're looking at rain showers from morris river, egg harbor, you have a sprinkle going on out there. and over into delaware, dover, just to the south of you, some more steady rain showers taking place. and that's basically what we're looking at across the area, is just these spotty, passing showers. a long line of showers on the way toward us, but here's the good news i want to show you. tomorrow, looks like we'll dry out. more r

meteorologist tammy souza is tracking your weather. >> we're going to focus on parts of delaware and south jersey. all of this is moving off to the east. so let's take a closer look at what's going on in your neighborhood. off to wilmington, that's where we see the heaviest of the rain. places like washington, you're going to have a pretty good down pour in the next 30 to 60 minutes. we are going to see ponding on some of the roadways. but you look up, there's nothing going on. we have the cloud cover basically there. kind of in the path of all of this. so this will head out to the shore in the next 60 minutes. allen town getting a brief shower. lind starting to clear out. so you get the idea we're on the back edge of it here. these are the spottier showers back here and we have heavier stuff moving into new york. and you can see there is still more activity being pushed ahead of the cold front being driven by this big area of low pressure driven by parts of canada. so let's go hour by hour and break it all down. we're still quite mild, in the 50s but here's the first batch of rain.

meteorologist tammie souza is joining us with her most accurate forecast. i'll take it. >> i'll take it to the bank all day long. just like you. take a look at the ben franklin brid bridge. how many of you drive along the ben franklin. it was beautiful today. when you drove over, you probably had a gorgeous scene going and coming from either direction. we have nice conditions out there right now. we have some sunshine and a few clouds have drifted through. . it's been a spectacular day. look at this. it's 74 in the lehigh valley. 81 at graduate hospital. so a little cooler than yesterday. still an absolutely spectacular day. . this is a good 10 to 12 degrees above average. e we should be 63 on today's date. here's where we're going to be going for the remainder of the evening hours. 76 right now. 62 at 11:00. the winds will shift. it will be a little cooler when you wake up tomorrow morning. we're pretty much going to be looking at a temperature trend that keeps us in the 60s tomorrow. . look at this in philly. 60s out there. and we're going to see the same

tammie souza has that. >> we have been going back and forth. will there be a shower on easter. some of the els say nothing. some say thunderstorms. this is one of those models. you can see there's a lot of activity around us. it looks worse than it is. the lighter shades of green would be sprinkles if anything at all. the deep shades of yellow is where you'd see a heavier downpour or thunderstorm. let's walk it through your easter sunday. we'll have some clouds in place. you'll wake up to temperatures in the upper 50s. maybe even a few low 60s because it's going to be mild. it locks like the easter egg hunts will be fine. but at noon here comes just a little bit of moisture into the area. these are the light shades of green. we reach the 80s. very warm out there. deeper shids of green you have to watch. that's where i think we could see the isolated showers. perhaps even some thunderstorms through the area. that's going to be late on ea easter. this is your forecast. we'll start the day mild in the 50s. low 60s. we'll be 81 in philly. the suburbs will make it to 79. in the lehi
