two bills being considered by the florida legislature right now could make bringing them onto college campuses legal. it's a hot topic nationwide, gaining steam in florida. 10 news reporter sarah hollenbeck is live at usf. sarah, this possibility isn't sitting well with some universities. some universities say it comes with too high a price and could invite violence onto campus. but supporters say it's a matter of public safety...and could make you safer if someone starts shooting and you or the person next to you has a gun to fight back. and it's not just fear of violence, it will also cost schools-- quite a bit. the university of central florida says if passed, this will cost their school an estimated $1.1 million during the first year. additional police but representative greg steube of sarasota, who is sponsoring the bill say universities are using those cost estimates as a scare tactic. many of the universities we statewide tell us they are making plans to change their policies, and alter training for campus police officers in case the legislation is passed. the national rifle as
