more than 5" of rain. >> also for the south bay, the rain that's been moving over the santa cruz mountsed some flooding we're seeing downstream in the south bay. now we do have those new evacuation orders that affect near the guadalupe river. from willow glen way to atlantic avenue, this area where it meets 58. this is above flood stage. we have a lot of flooding around the bay area, especially north bay. we're seeing some lighter showers moving through on storm ranger, which is definitely a relief that we're not seeing more heavy rain about to continue to move in. so as we get a closer look at parts of the east bay where the tri-valley and also in concord and moving up toward fairfield we are seeing rain really creating slippery conditions on the roads and then much heavier rain moving over the santa cruz mountains to saratoga and gh shadow over san jose. we do have a col front thatergy. we saw thunder and lightning in some areas moving through over the past few hours. a lot of energy, a lot of moisture to work with. we are still going to see our scattered rain continuing throughout t

it really hasn't rained all that hard pretty much down here in the south bay. they're keeping an eye on the hotspots now. this is one of them, hicks road. crews worked really hard to get hicks road back open just seven days after the shutdown from the mudslide when it blocked all the lanes out here. with the atmospheric river basically knocking on the door of the south bay, they hope that it stays open. >> if you don't have to be out, i wouldn't be out. >> reporter: here on hicks road the county is bracing for more mudslides, no, seriously. they are literally bracing. these concrete barriers have been bolted together to hopefully hold back whatever else comes sliding down and blocking the road again. being able to drive through saves eric zalaya the headache of having to detour all the way

the atmospheric river continues tonight. we have crews all over the bay area -- from the east bay ... to the south bay... and in the north bay. that is where the town of san anselmo is watching and worrying ... about the creek that runs alongside the downtown sector. kron4's maureen kelly talked to the public works director ... who is concerned about possible flooding there. the town of san anselmo has been getting a lot of rain and you can see what that's doing to the creek behind me and there is more in the forecast. so much so that the county council has canceled tonight's meeting. now this morning this creek was hitting between eight and 9 feet and that has officials worried because when this creek hits 11 feet a siren will sound alerting people of possible flooding because when the creek is at 13 feet they say flooding is eminent. the director of public works says if that happens they will start evacuating people and closing off san anselmo avenue they say they do not want people to come down here and watch the spectacle of the creek overflowing its banks because it's just not safeit's dangerous if i

, and for the peninsula, parts of the east bay, south bay, tri-valley, you're seeing some of the rain we've seen in the north bay for at least since sunday. this system is starting to push to the south, as we were seeing some of those clouds, now moving into the bay area, and it's still cloudy and wet in the north bay, that's a live look at san rafael at the s curve at 101. let's get a look at these rainfall totals. we talk about venado, a rain sensor known for enhanced rainfall in northern sonoma county. over 21 inches of rain, just unreal to see that, and all of that rain has to go somewhere. we look at mt. veeder, 12.5 inches of rain. san anselmo almost ten inches and mark west creek nine inches of rain, yountville 7:75 and santa rosa.75 inches of rain. we have new video of flooding that shows what all of that rain can do. we can see the flooded roads around novato and it's still been raining off and on, so when you come to a scene like this, you do want to make sure that you to not drive into that water. it doesn't take much of that

the north bay, you basically got it all. the south has not seen a drop and point north have seen much less rainfall than sonoma, mendocino, lake and marin county and napa county getting the heavy rainfall as well. eventually later this evening the line works its way south. you in redwood city, palo alto, san jose will get a round of heavy rainfall for three to six hours. then it's gone. we're talking 30 to 36 hours in the north bay. we'll get it for a couple hours in the east and south bay, that's it. by sunrise wednesday scattered showers, heavy at times, but the atmospheric river is gone before sunrise tomorrow and we will get sunshine back which we'll need thursday. futurecast for the upcoming weekend, i wish i had different news for you. it's not going to be heavy flooding rainfall, but more rain is possible this weekend, especially coming up on saturday. so rain tonight. the winds have been strong. that will continue. we taper off to showers wednesday and get a dry break thursday and friday. highs tomorrow when the rain stops, it
