police are on the scene of an assault in springfield. evan lambert is live on the scene. what happened? what do you know. >> reporter: right now, we're on springfield hills drive in springfield. i'm going to move out of the way so you can see. at this point, we do not know very much, but you can see that police do have this cul-de-sac, this section of the cul-de-sac roped off in this area, what we do know is that this came in as a call for an assault around 3:30 this afternoon. we understand from fairfax county police that this is domestic in nature. other than that, there are not very many details that have been released at this time. it's unclear if there are injuries, and the unclear if any suspect isn't custody at this time. i did speak with a neighbor here, who s several people taken away in an ambulance. that was about several hours ago now. but again, the investigation focusing on a home at the end of this cul-de-sac. right to the left of that black covered truck that appears to be a police vehicle or crime scene vehicle of some sort. that do your to that house, ope

we understand from fairfax county police that they're responding to reports of an assault in springfield in the 7500 block of springfield hills drive. that's just west of interstate 95 and also off rolling road. that's not far from a cost co in that area and skyfox is live over the scene now. that neighborhood, a cul-de-sac where you should be able to see police cruisers in that cul-de-sac, there's also yellow crime scene tape in that area. you can see some officers standing around in that cul-de-sac as well. we understand from fairfax fairfax police that a spokesperson is on their way to that scene, we hope to get more information from them. we're just about a half hour away from there. but once we get more information from that spokesperson, we hope to provide you with updates on twitter and on fox 5 later in our newscast this evening. again, fairfax county police working right now an assault, a reported assault in springfield off springfield hills drive in that cul-de-sac there. and we do not know if there are any reported injuries but we do know that the call came in around 3:30, we're on o
