tony perkins. good morning to you. >> good wering, everybody. we'll tell you about some changes that we had for today. there are no surprises. this is all expected. take a look at vipir. there are some rain showers out there. they are all to our south as expected. there is some heavy rain in south and central portions of virginia, some very heavy rainfall down there. even richmond has seen some heavy rain already this morning. so if you are traveling south towards richmond or particularly beyond richmond, you will encounter rain showers this morning. in fact, through the morning. however, here in the washington area, we remain dry. i can't rule out a shower for our southernmost viewers, say in fredericksburg, places like that. we'll remain dry here in the washington area. temperatures across the reason on, it is actually the most mild air we've had early in the morning. this week, 50 degrees now in washington. 49 at baltimore. 47 at dulles. fredericksburg is at 50. forecast for today, morning clouds but becoming mostly sunny by the afternoon. it

let's check in with tony perkins for the latest. >> yeah, here it comes. we'll see cooler temperatures certainly for today for the next couple of days definitely. and some other stuff going on as well. let's jump right in. we'll start with hd radar. a couple more showers out there early this morning so we're not quite done yet. most of you aren't seeing any precipitation currently but there is a little more rain to get through, even a little spot of heavy rain down to our south and west near culpeper. but for the morning hours, a few more showers coming through and out to the north and west, believe it or not, i think tucker mentioned this, a chance of a couple of snow showers off to the north and west during these morning time hours. right now, reagan national airport reporting a temperature of 51 degrees. relative humidity, 66%. winds are out of northwest at 17 miles per hour. it will be rather blustery, quite cool as well. forecast for today looks like this. plenty of clouds this morning give way to partly sunny skies later on after some afternoon clear

let's say good morning to tony perkins with more on our forecast which actually feels somewhat like a spring, early summer, maybe later on today. >> yes, you're right. it will feel like spring later on today. temperatures in the 60s, near 07 degrees. that despite the fact that it will be pretty cloudy today. let's take a look at what is going on out there. we'll start with the sentinel satellite-radar. we can show you that across the region, we have plenty of clouds. we'll see more clouds today than we saw during the last couple of days. in terms of rainfall, i don't think we get any of that until the nighttime hours and in particular the overnight hours when we could see some showers pass through portions of the viewing area. temperatures look like this. 56degrees now right here in the nation's capital. 57 in baltimore. at ocean city, it is 57 and in one chester, it is 54. forecast for today, partly sunny skies, quite breezy with those winds blowing up to 20 or 25 miles per hour this afternoon. highs today in the upper 60s to near 70. 69 in washington. 67 in frederick. enjoy the day.
