a live look outside in san francisco as the sun shines over the transamerica pyramid.it is freezing out there. thanks so much for joining us. i'm kira klapper. vianey arana has a look at our microclimate forecast. i mean -- >> it's cold! >> what do we say. >> 20s on the map right now. especially if you live in the interior valleys of the north bay, probably feeling that bite a little more than the rest of us. look at this now, 36 degrees in the south bay peninsula. 36. 27 degrees in the tri valley. and a very cool 27 degrees in the north bay. san francisco is at about 41 degrees right now. east bay waking up to 37 degrees. and we can expect to see a fairly mild day, but we will be a couple of degrees warmer today, getting even warmer by tomorrow. and i do want to remind folks that there is still a freeze warning in place this morning. but this is mainly for the deep interior valleys in san benito county, monterey county that. is going to remain in effect at least through 9:00 a.m. today. those valley temperatures are really cold in the mid 20s. so don't be surprised if

taking a live look out now at san francisco, transamerica building, the lights all glittering, a great, right? >> right. >> at least that's what i'm saying this morning. >> it is cold out there once again. >> yeah. >> a little bit warmer than yesterday? >> just a few degrees. that really doesn't make much of a difference because as we go throughout the day it's going to be very much like yesterday and we do have this disturbance moving in that is bringing in a little bit of a mixed bag of precipitation for parts of the north bay. i've also been seeing some showers just offshore along the peninsula. so i will be watching that. now, as we look at what's happening here in the north bay, i wanted to give you a closer look because here we may have a very slippery morning drive so watch out for those icy spots, especially on those elevated bridges and roadways and for elevations above about 1,500 feet. where you see the grays that indicates light snow coming down, the pink shows the transition from rain to snow. and then for the green of course that is light rain from guerneville down to san

blue skies at transamerica and blue skies at the golden gate bridge, mostly sunny skies to close out this sunny sunday, concord temperatures in the mid- 50s, oakland and san francisco 51, in santa rosa 48 degrees. out the door tomorrow morning might have a sprinkle or two near the coast. inland it will be partly cloudy and cold to start out monday morning, 36 degrees inland. around the bay we'll be in the low 40s, so temperatures are coming down a bit and here's why. that cold pool of air coming down from the gulf means it will be cloudy, on the breezy side monday and tuesday. then things will turn around and also there's the potential that because of the snow levels are pretty low we could get a dusting of snow in bay area peaks. it will warm slightly as we get toward the weekend. we'll recover all the way to the 60s. in the meantime it's been windy today. those winds have begun to ease up except at the shoreline where the winds tomorrow at 7:00 will still be in the 25- mile an hour range. futurecast shows all this pop- up shower activity overnight tonight. here's tomorrow morning a

nice clear skies over san francisco great view of transamerica pyramid this morning. probably noticed 2. 35 in livermore, below freezing in the valleys today. temperatures are not going to warm up too much. in fact, our highs today will be in the upper 50s along the coast and in san francisco, low 60s for vallejo and oakland, some clouds will come through right around noontime or so. satellite-radar showing there is a system that's coming down from the pacific northwest. all it may do is bring us a very light chance of some snow flurries and maybe clouds for your lunch break. then by this afternoon, it looks like things are going to clear up and we are going to see just a few flurries like i said, less than an inch of snow expected for the higher elevations. then high pressure returns bringing us up to the 70s by saturday and cooling dramatically next week.
