uc berkeley had 45 sex crimes and sent out 11 alerts. last week students at cal received two alerts letting them know about two reported sexual assaults that had happened earlier this month. some students say they appreciated that information. >> even though we get them all the time because i think it is important for students to know if they're safe on campus. >> a lot of us get the alerts. we don't understand the full danger of what's going on until it happens to someone close to us. >> reporter: echoing what that student had to say, some point out that too many alerts might make students numb to the problem. victims' advocates have said it is important to keep the student body informed to be sure students are aware of the overall problem of sexual assault. we did reach out to uc berkeley police, the agency that has to report the statistics, these crimes whether he they happen. we tried and talk to them more about the study but we haven't heard back from them yet. back to you. >> thank you. >>> oakland police are investigating shooting
