across much of the state of washington there are alerts out for more than half of the state of washingtonause of the air quality from these wildfires as well as the smoke coming from wildfires in canada. lots of issues in the northwest u.s. and north america right now. firefighters continuing to be battling these blazes. those evacuation orders are still in effect. i've heard from one person i spoke with yesterday who said her home was destroyed. thankfully she and her son make it out okay. still looking for a pet she hopes may have made it out. obviously concerns about people's pets, family members, property. we know of two deaths, one from the gray fire zone, one from the oregon road fire zone. neither of those deaths, though they've been confirmed, neither has been attributed to these fires. you can see behind me, they just dispersed, but there was a morning briefing going on. the fight against these fires still very active out here. >> my heart goes out to those folks. i spent a lot of time in that region going to school at washington state university, working in spoke cane. beautiful
