right now, we are tracking some problems for drivers heading along westbound 580. we are seeing the usual slowdowns plus we had an earlier accident. and it looks like chp is now -- this is on the grant line on-ramp to westbound 580 so it's not blocking lanes on 580. slowdowns along that stretch is just the usual crowds developing. 27 minutes between 205 and 680. speeds in the yellow along that stretch. as you head further west to castro valley along westbound 580, things looking fantastic moving right at the limit, 238 not a problem as you head over towards 880. and 880 in that southbound direction, not seeing any yellow just yet. we are clocking in at 10 minutes from 238 to 84. san mateo bridge looking good. nice and light in both directions. eastshore freeway, 80 at ashby, starting to get busy but we're still getting travel times clocking in just under 15 minutes for those heading out of hercules over towards the macarthur maze. over at the bay bridge toll plaza, no metering lights yet but we are definitely seeing a backup and that's stretching towards that west

looking westbound and all that traffic.hance of light showers today, wet decks if you're going to be out on the ferry and wet stops if you're taking mass transit. i put caution there for all of them. here is the way the first area that receives the rain by about 9:00 this morning through noon. that's pretty much it. then temperatures with a little sunshine late will warm from the upper 50s to low 60s in the north bay. the least likely area to see rain and the last area will be down in the south bay. look at temperatures ramp up to 70 by 2:00. 3:00, 4:00 you're starting to get your chance of light showers. temperatures in the mid-60s already over by 8:00 and back down to 60. tonight we're dropping down in the mid to upper 40s. a little cooler than this morning. the cold front while it may not bring rain to neighborhoods will definitely make it colder tomorrow. in fact only 60% of us have a chance of really some measurable rain today. instead east bay valleys in the south bay may miss out. everybody gets wet tomorrow and anot

a lot of folks heading in the westbound direction. next traffic update we'll look at drive times. >> now a live desk update from abc 7 mornings. >> after decades of evading law enforcement, the man suspected of being the golden state killer is finally in jail. we've learned 72-year-old joseph james deangelo will be arraigned tomorrow on murder charges. police announced the major break in the case yesterday. the golden state killer was one of california's most feared serial killers in the 1970s and '80s, responsible for 12 murders and upwards of 50 rapes plus more than 100 burglaries. he was also called the east area rapist, the original night stalker during his reign of terror across california. police connected the dots and realized it might be the same person. the sacramento d.a. was on gma this morning and spoke out about the case. >> it's all about passion and persistence and ultimately about dna. i always believed that dna is the silent witness to the truth. that truth may have been quieted for 40-something years. we're now here

there it is, this is westbound where we are recovering after an earlier crash on the westbound span. westbound 37 driving out to marin county from vallejo and we had slow traffic on the 80 freeway westbound because of this earlier accident on the bay bridge as well as a crash in berkeley. so now finally we have seen a little bit of better traffic at the toll plaza. this is a 30 minute delay driving on the san mateo bridge? traffic looks to be okay but on the other side we have had persistent problems on the freeway, i'm not sure why it has not cleared but this has been a very slow commute in san mateo in both directions. i would recommend using 280 if you can. on the east bay we have slow traffic on 880 and 680. highway 4 and -- in contra costa looks normal. let's get back to the desk now. >>> san francisco police have broken up a home burglary ring targeting residents in the city and the peninsula. >> allie rasmus tells us this comes after an increase in property crimes last year. >> reporter: last year there was a spike in property crimes in san francisco. now san francisco police

there is a lot of slow traffic here on westbound bay bridge. westbound bay bridge just after the toll plaza has reported a crash. i am not sure but it looks like it could be blocking one of the lanes on the left. when i see the carpool lanes at a stop, that is something that is not typical. we had the earlier problem on the san mateo bridge and that crash has been cleared. the damages done there. we also have a look at some of the other commutes. highway 4 is a little bit slow. i am surprised it is not slower. you might want to get on the road before it gets really slow. 880 is slow. we have a lot of slow traffic this morning with earlier issues. it will be a lot longer, even 580 itself is slow before 205. there are no major flight delays. >>> palo alto police made an arrest in the sexual assault of a teenage jogger. the teenager told police that a man grabbed her and assaulted her on march 28. police believe the suspect may have committed other bay area sexual assault crimes.>>> a richmond man was arrested. >> reporter: police believe he may b

priority today, westbound 80 between vacaville, fairfield and vallejo look pretty good. that have been no major issues. there been no travel issues crossing the carquinez bridge. it is only taking 19 minutes from carquinez bridge to the maccarthur maze. the travel toll plaza has a little bit of a crowd at the castro lanes already. >>> police in pleasant hill are still searching for a suspect in the first homicide in that city since 2012. >> it happened saturday night at a home. police say a 23-year-old was shot and killed in what appears to be a marijuana -related robbery. >> the suspect made specific statements to the victim targeting marijuana. that is how we knew it was related to marijuana. >> police have not said yet if marijuana was found at the scene or if there was any sign of a grow operation. neighbors say they have long suspected drug activity in the neighborhood. it is also not clear if the suspect new the victim. if you have any information, call the police. >>> a richmond manned is behind bars of assault -- accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl who
