it is across avery county and it is still pretty active into mitchell and yancey counties. it is likely we will add another one to two inches in the populated areas and perhaps even three or four more on the highest elevations in the ski slope areas and on the western slopes. the current wind gusts are no joke. it is still blowing up there about 41 miles per hour. still a wind advisory in affect. along with that winter weather advisory for that additional accumulating snow. look at this. wind gusts 20 to 30 miles an hour. there it is. you are heading out in the queen city. you know how that wind can channel through the skyscrapers. if you are heading in the uptown area you can expect the wind gusts. the temperatures won't fall that quickly. the wind does mix the air and so it doesn't cool as efficiently near the surface. beyond that have a look at the it is still hanging around the mountains. how does it look for your out the door forecast. no matter what your level of skiing is, you know what, it is snowing. that's all that matters. it will be tapering off. the temperature
