abc's zachary kiesch joins us now with the story. good morning, zachary. >> good morning, michael.y of the player that died want him fired. >> reporter: 19-year-old jordan mcnear seen here was looking forward to playing for the university of maryland football team. but today the university placing d.j. durkin and three other department staff members on leave following the death of the freshman. the school is investigating multiple allegations detailed in an espn report. mcnair was reportedly running 110-yard sprints in conditioning drills when the offensive lineman collapsed after showing signs of extreme exhaustion. >> we have an individual unable to control his breath. >> reporter: while the temperature on the field was in the high 70s, the mcnair family attorney saying the 19-year-old's body was recorded at 106 degrees upon arrival at the hospital. mcnair died 15 days later. >> my heard is broken. it's not reasonable that a 19-year-old should pass away. >> reporter: multiple sources telling espn that when mcnair experienced problems towards the end of the workout, one coach told
