you had chris sununu, chris murphy, james lankford, along with the administration trying to hammer out a deal for more restrictive policies at the border due to the influx of migrants coming in from the southern border, this was a complicated negotiation just on the policy but also in trying to get members on board behind any sort of deal that can be reached. there are already fresh warnings, including the top republican that he saying he will not be jammed by these negotiations and is demanding this be skipped until january. >> the bottom line is we feel like we are being jammed, we are not anywhere close to a deal. it will go into next year. >> he joined a group of 15 republican senators who are calling for these talks to be extended until january. at that point, the house will be back in session and they can have more discussions, there's also the problems of the actual mechanics. the process of putting it together, even if a deal was reached in principle. they have to turn into legislative tax, get a buy and and you already see pushback from a number of members, people on the left
