so we're going to continue to watch this as it does rush over the florida peninsula.entually it's going to roll off towards the northeast, affecting the east coast of the u.s. along with this low-pressure area. the same storm that's been bringing foul weather towards the west, it's now moving east bringing scattered showers across the appalachians. 50 millimeters expected in illinois, indiana, areas hit by flooding recently. so any more rain is just going to be making the situation worse out here. and then after that pushes off towards the northeast, andrea is going to fall in behind it and rush along with it, bringing coastal waves rather high and the risk of coastal surge along the east coast after it pushes off towards the northeast. that is this storm system. now, behind it, fairer weather is working its way in. denver with a high of 25. take a look at phoenix, 42 here for your high on your thursday. it is just going to be absolutely sizzling out there. now, here into eastern asia, i first want to start off with the tropical area as well. not a named area, but it

not uncommon to see lightning storms here in the florida peninsula. but the problem, this is going to be slow moving and it will be dropping a lot of rainfall. some areas the next 72 hours could see about 200 millimeters of rain. pooling up with that water especially in low-lying areas along the roads. don't try to drive through it. very well you could get stuck up in it. as far as temperatures, miami with a high of 28. oklahoma city at 29. much of the desert southwest, you've just been baking in the heat. los angeles at 23. but a little farther inland, getting into the high 20s. about 10 to 15 degrees above average for this time of year out here. but let's take a look at europe. well, this tells the picture out here. much, much clearer skies for the most part. we do have the remnants of the upper-level low which has just been cut off and sitting here in and across central and eastern europe. still expecting about 40 millimeters, maybe up to 60 millimeters of rainfall and some isolated storms. but the good news is that the worst of it looks like it's

tropical storm andrea caused some tornadoes across the florida peninsula. really weak ones, but a tornado being weak or strong, it's still causing damage with it. some overturned cars and roof damage. now it's pushing off toward the northeast, merging in with a frontal area moving off the atlantic coast. what does that mean as far as the storm? not much. it's still going to be packing a punch. it's still going to be bringing the heavy rainfall an also that beach erosion. even some tropical storm warnings still in effect along the carolina coast extending up through north carolina. it also is going to be bringing these gusty wind and heavy rains into the northeast. moving at a rather fast pace here. if you're in washington, d.c. towards new york, you have some flights in and out of here, this is going to cause some delays and possible cancellations as it does continue to move ahead. the tail end of that front i was talking about, that's triggering up rain showers and thunderstorms across the gulf coast in louisiana and mississippi. some of them very well cou

this is heavy rainfall that's been streaming across the florida peninsula all day today causing somey rains and flooding concerns. those will continue even as andrea moves further inland. now, over the course of the day, it will accelerate northeastward and up the coast. tomorrow morning it will be in the carolinas and by saturday morning into the northeast. at this point, though, it will have lo its tropical characterist characteristics, which means its winds won't be as strong but it will bring a heavy rainfall threat across the northeast. we'll continue to watch that. in addition to the rainfall, we're watching for storm surge. 2 to 5 feet of storm surge in parts of the florida big bend area. this will cause some minor flooding. again, the main story here is the rainfall. take a look at the radar. these are heavy showers that have been moving over the same area. in sarasota, north port venice, very heavy rainfall and will continue through the day as andrea makes landfall in the big bend area. >> thank you very much. up next, reaction to a federal judge's unprecedented order demand
