we told you about the impact of the fiery crash on the new jersey turnpike. let's see what else is going on. first alert traffic reporter jillian mele has that for us. >> good morning, chris. we're following normal construction out there, especially roads in chester county, like route 202. you can see way over on the southbound side of 202 approaching route 29, but it's not causing any delays in the area. we also have normal long-term construction we're dealing with on 95 this morning in the normal spots, especially right near cottman avenue. but we continue to follow this closure on the northbound side of the new jersey turnpike, especially just past hightstown. that's where a lot of that activity is, exit 8, exit 8a in cranberry township. you can take route 130 or route 9. that's a good option for you. or depending where you're going, if you're heading north, say from exit 6, you could stick to 295. of course, it depends where you are headed out this morning. chris? >>> our live, team coverage of the dangerous cold continues next with how this bitter weathe

can see traffic is moving but certainly moving slower than it would be at this hour on the new jersey turnpikee've got a good 23-mile stretch with lane restrictions on the turnpike. this is northbound between exit six and exit 8a. as we look at this the accident itself happened in middlesex county and most of the closure here is in mercer county, new jersey, so as you're traveling up between mercer and middlesex, you're dealing with these restrictions here. one thing you could do is take 130 or route 9 instead because they're still out there working on this right now. let's go to mass transit. we've got more issues with mass transit now. new jersey transit, the ac rail line suspended between center city and cherry hill. this is because of switching problems in the area so you need to watch for that as you're headed out. also the manayunk norristown line getting 15 minute delays here still happening because of wire problems out there. so, a few issues with mass transit. i just want to go outside live because another problem is right on the schuylkill expressway. this is past the blue route east

so, traffic can get by on some of the lanes on the inner portion of that part of the new jersey turnpike, but unfortunately, if this investigation stays out there throughout the morning, you could see a really big backup out there. this is the northbound side of the turnpike out near hightstown exit 8, exit 8a in cranberry township. so, if you want to get around that, route 130 is going to be a good option for you, or you can take route 9. just depends where you're waking up, where you're traveling this morning. right now, we're not seeing any delays there because it's too early in the morning to have a really big backup, but this has been out there for hours. this closure has been out there since the late hours of last night and is still out there right now. so, i'll keep you updated on that. and in a few minutes, we'll go to a live look at the blue route. chris? >>> it is 4:33. back to the near record cold we're facing. be prepared for a blast of cold that will make you think we've flipped the calendar to january. temperatures at a dangerous low this morning. nbc 10's jesse gary is bra

this occurred on the northbound side of the new jersey turnpike, just beyond the hightstown area. y serious situation, still in the active investigation seen. the truck lanes closed on the northbound side of the turnpike beyond hightstown. traveling in that area your best alternate is route 130. as we talk about the schuylkill expressway, traveling on 76 in the eastbound direction making your way beyond the area of south street we are dealing with the crash blocking the left-hand lane only adding insult to injure for anyone traveling on the eastbound side of 76, trying to get into center city. we have westbound delays in that same area as well and both sides of the schuylkill within your western suburbs are not great on top of. that lets take a look at 422. eastbound jammed approaching the area of oaks down to 202. we have 15 minute delays foreman i young norristown regional rail lines. they have been having some wire problems. and just briefly look at these speed sensors. fourteen on i-95 in and out of the center city and throughout the northeast. southbound so far the worst. seve
