i live in bay view. many of the young people have either gone through kipp or know somebody who goes to kipp. i am deeply invested as a school board member in the entire bay view community and what is happening in all of our schools. over the last several years we made deep investments in our schools that are in bay view in particular. we have focus a lot of energy and resources in providing support to african-american students and the incrementals. there has been some progress made. absolutely not enough. i think we see that over and over again across the country, and i feel like i am in a place where my commitment to the investment that we have made in the bay view schools is critical. i need to stick to that commitment that we have made and the resources that we are pouring into the schools to ensure that our students and their families and the teachers that are committed to those students and families in the bay view are well supported. as difficult as this is just in terms of the support i have prov

these are home value increases overlaid with supervisor districts bay view, the mission, western addition has experienced rates of increase of almost 100%. the western side of the city we see rates mostly above 75%. and even where the rates have gone up the slowest on the northeastern corner there's still above 55% since 2010. we see similar trends. the neighborhoods well served by bart and cal trans or caltrain and sort of increases throughout the city above at least around 20%. so what are some of the potential drivers behind these trends? so we pause it for explanations. one is the rapid expansion of employment coupled with rising wages. lagging housing production that hasn't kept up with the increase in jobs and wages as well as regional challenges that create job housing imbalances in jurisdictions throughout the bay area. so this chart shows increases in jobs by wage classes in san france since 2006. as you can see they're going up in every wage category. we have roughly 150,000 more jobs today than we did at the bottom of the recession in 2010. and more jobs than the previous peek

angst, the communities, the mission community, the homeless community, the tinderloin community, and bay view community, and we set meetings in the middle of the morning or middle of the afternoon behind a police officer's door. i think the process -- there's something wrong with this process. i think it was meant to keep people out. people waited six months before they had an opportunity to talk, and then, when they're here, they're disrespected in a manner where they're still locked out, they're locked outside, and they can't participate. i think it's shame on this commission to even consider voting on this, and i think we should give our dgo's a chance to work, our cameras a chance to work. we should force our department to really analyze our training issue. we should talk about our technology, sorely lacking. you're going to get $8 million to get tazers, and we don't even have the technology to get the data. we're rushing to give a training -- to give tazers. i think the whole thing is a deflection. what we have is an analyst's report that says we can look forward to 102 tasings a hear. t
