a news conference later today by police about an officer involved shooting yesterday in downtown san jose. it happened at about 7 am near east william and south ninth street. that is not far from san jose state university. the officers fired shots at an armed home invasion suspect and then arrested him. he was not hit by the gunfire. no officers were hurt during the confrontation. the officer involved shooting followed two other shootings in san jose. the first was in a parking lot shortly after midnight. police say they found a man lying under a car. he had been shot at least once. he was pronounced dead at the scene. a few hours later there was a second shooting at loves in jackson avenue is not far from the first shooting. police detained several people. they recovered a gun as well. the victim in that shooting is in stable condition. it is still not clear if the shootings are related. >>> several victims and their family members of the golden state killer traveled to nashville to attend a crime convention. >> allie tells us this was planned before last months arrest of the suspect. >>
