eric thomas. >> we begin with developing news. flames have consumed 12 buildings many of them homes. 600 structures are threatened. >> it has scorched now 3,000 acres since it started. cal fire says the fire is picking up and its burning to the east. >> leslie brinkley joins us live at the evacuation center in lower lake and leslie, you just learned about these expanded evacuations. >> reporter: a perfect fire recipe here, deanand eric. erratic winds and high temperatures and we also have low humidity. you can take a look behind me. the sky an ominous looking black sky here. it's above the evacuation center here that red cross has set up. it's really the thick smoke above the flames that have already burned through 3,000 acres. the fire took a turn for the worse overnight as it engulfed homes. for two hours she kept the flames at bay by herself despite dozens of fire crews nearby. >> there were some sort of cal fire -- some sort of vehicles on our road that could have been doing something and i was rolling propane tanks down the hill. i was moving my cars. i had jets. i was doing everything i could and i just needed help and no one would help me. >> reporter: she lost everything. the
