the oakland girl has been finally taken off life support. jessica flores live in oakland. jessica. >>> reporter: anne that legal and medical battle started right here at oakland at children's hospital. this is where jahi mcmath was declared brain-dead in 2013. her body was then taken to new jersey and she received care there. despite doctors saying that she was legally dead, her mother believed that she was alive and actually got permission to take jahi to new jersey and get treatment there. and that's where she was declared dead. jahi's mother said she died after internal bleeding from an operation. in 2013, jahi was declared brain-dead after having complications in surgery to remove her tonsils here in oakland. her mother believed jahi was still alive and moved her to new jersey because the state allows keeping someone on life support for religious reasons. her mother said she saw signs of life in her daughter. she released video of her daughter moving her fingers and toes four years ago. >> so i said okay, move your thumb if you can hear me. she moved her thumb again. s
