so we will head into grant's bedroom and this is where grant would have come in from the outdoors. one thing you will notice is missing here is a bad area normally there's a bed in the bedroom. unfortunately because of grants condition he ended up having to sleep sitting up in these chairs here so he would have his feet in one side and sitting up in the other and this is where he would work on the memoirs. this is also where his nurses or his doctors, which he had three doctors on call and two nurses would administer any medicine or give him nourishment. it was hard for him to eat with his throat condition so most of these items are original but they were provided for the grant family mister drexel. these two chairs that i mentioned actually did, from new york city with the grants and in fact grant road on these on the train. because mister drexel left this to be a common memorial, grants son fred left his father's personal belongings and we have very personal items here that show that grant was here and he was at home here and that he went through some very tough times here as wel
