lid on the team -- harvey. this is a case of works by what we would call pioneers of the early studio glass movement. toledo as a city and the museum played an important role in this watershed moment in the history of studio glass which takes us back to the early 1960's. in 1962, there was a man who taught ceramics at university of wisconsin madison who really wanted to experiment with glass. and he worked with a director at the gma, -- toledo museum to initiate a series of workshops. the first one happened in march of 1962. and harvey sent out a letter to a group of other ceramics professors and invited them to come to toledo and participate in the glassblowing workshop or -- where they would experiment. and so they came here and set up a furnace. they built a furnace. they did not know how to melt glass, so they went to a local scientist who worked at a company that made fiberglass. and they began to experiment. there was a retired glass blower named harvey who worked in libby , he came in and help them to ge

so when harvey had these workshops, he had this successful moment in experimenting with glass. he returned to his campus in wisconsin and set up the first university program in the country for teaching glass blowing others. would then follow while you still see in many people's work the focus on the traditional glass form like the vessel. you also see this tremendous range in which people are working today in very sculptural way and abstract ways. i mean the possibilities with glass of really just kind of loaded in the last 15 almost 60 years from its beginning until now the glass industry has diversified. however the base is still here. we still love our libbey glass and this beautiful glass pavilion that i'm standing in is very much a monument to the marriage of industry and beauty it's a wonderful testament to our toledo's history and that fundamental history of glass.

when they fall or have to be removed, harvey's team collects them and turns them into something else.> we acquire it as logs and then mill it and cure it and ultimately turn it into custom furniture. >> reporter: those trees come here to a hill top milling site in livermore where they get a little industrial style tlc. >> people think that tree has no use, but in reality, there's still a lot of value that is locked in in these logs. >> reporter: cal fire's greg deon says putting them in a wood chipper or burning them contributes to climate stream. >> they're go to the city dump and decay and carbon into the atmosphere. >> reporter: milling the lumber releases less gas, and there are plenty of useful things these trees can become. >> i see anything from furniture to people working on their houses, to decks, to fences. >> so this piece of redwood right here came from a tree that came down in the tubs fire. >> reporter: tucked into a san ramon mall, harvey's shop shows the possibilities for the trees he collects, tables cutting boards, art. >> and so you can really see it and touch it an

joining me now is tmz's harvey levin to dive more into the reason behind this, harvey. thank you for joining us and first. what's interesting in this? it stems from an agreement as we mentioned from a civil lawsuit more than a decade ago, but the agreement wasn't really in writing. so how was it binding in this case? well, it was binding for a whole bunch of reasons, andre. so look what the first thing you've got to understand this. this doesn't mean the court said he's innocent. they're not saying that they're saying he was denied fundamental due process, and here's why that when the when andrea constand sued bill cosby, she wanted to take his deposition. bruce castor, who was the d a at the time. um, knew that bill cosby was going to invoke his fifth amendment right against self incrimination so constand could not do a deposition. he would just keep taking the fifth. so bruce castor went to bill cosby and his lawyers and said, look, we're not going to prosecute you. so we give you our guarantee that we won't prosecute you so sit for the deposition. he didn't only sit

i'm reyna harvey. let's start this morning with a check of weather with john king. john, it's been pretty more. but we've also have some cooler days of cooler nights. what can we expect for the next 5 or so days as we plan our week. >> well, it'll hit behind you right now. rain and those winds russian around blowing around these trees that you can see in some of our cameras. winds of change ushering in some cooler air ahead of us. so yesterday, and even saturday before that we're all looking that's nice. sunny skies and some relatively warm conditions to it was a good weekend for stepping outside showing a little bit of time out there. now today you're going to notice a sharp cool down and an increase in winds that may keep the onside more than where we were over the weekend. a look outside right now does show you some low clouds sitting above the half moon bay. but honestly fog nor lowered visibility is really much of an issue this morning. i'm more concerned about what you're going to be encountering as far as wind gusts are concerned today from noon to 08:00pm. w

so was harvey milk, a city supervisor.it and she hums it, and then she starts singing. and by the time we get to san francisco, she's written two verses. -and that night, we all sang, "we are gay and lesbian people," and for many, it was the first time they'd said those words out loud about themselves. and then, the song flew out, and allies began to sing it. ♪ and the words were changed to, "we are gay and straight together," and the song found its way into the unitarian hymnal.
