andrew dymburt is here with what to expect. including that impact on everyone's wallet who's watching. >> good morning. the latest jobs report is out this morning. analysts expect it to show a slowing labor market. hiring appears to have waned over the summer. the august jobs report is likely to show the economy added 170,000 jobs last month down from 187,000 in july. the unemployment rate is presumed to remain unchanged around 3.5%. some contributing factors to a cooling job market include the nationwide strikes like hollywood writers and actors who walked off the job and on to the picket line reducing employment by some 16,000 jobs. slightly higher than what was expected. but it shows the job market is cooling. >> the big money impact is interest rates and what happens after this report with the fed. >> i guess the hope is among some economists that since there hasn't been a sharp rise in unemployment an argument could be made for no rate hikes. what the federal reserve does next also depends on where inflation is headed. jer
