and it's another day where you drive around the bay area and there is not a big contrast for the east bay. 66 in livermore and 65 for fremont. the peninsula 61 and san mateo is 64. palo alto feeling just a little bit chillier in san francisco with 58 in the outer sunset. and right up here to the north bay 67 in napa and 66 in novato. so i really think we'll stick with weather just like this as we head into your weekend forecast and then next week we still have rain in the forecast. so i want to go ahead and spend some time on that. what you're going to see is by tuesday, i'm noticing the storm system starting to develop off to the north. the thing about this storm, it's tapping into some decent pacific moisture. but as it gets closer, it will dry out a little bit as it moves over land. overall we're looking at some pretty good chances here next tuesday. then into wednesday, also into thanksgiving, it looks like some more of these scattered rain chances in the forecast. so i want to give you exactly what we know about this right now. some bullet points on it. and you'll be able to see

nbc bay area's kris sanchez is live in apple's home town of cupertino. so how much money are we talking about for silicon valley? >> reporter: well, $2.5 billion is the biggest corporate contribution toward affordable housing to this point and about a fifth of that is earmarked specifically for silicon valley and san jose. here is how apple is divvying up the $2.5 billion pie. $1 billion into an affordable house investment fund available to the state of california and other developers to build low to moderate income housing. $1 billion will fund a down payment assistance loan program for first-time buyers, especially service personnel and school employees and veterans. the bay area will benefit from $300 million in apple-owned property in the city of san jose made available for the construction of affordable housing and the $150 million which apple will put toward the existing bay area housing trust silicon valley which has a decades old housing fund and $50 million to support vulnerable populations through destination homes. the reaction is far is mixed

nbc bay area responds, next. >>> nbc bay area response to a san jose woman with an unusual problem. > its agreement to let a group of neighbors park in its lot. chris chmura stepped in to help. >> martha bell lives in this mobile home park. well, roadwork over the summer mean td some place e s and her neighbors ask the manager of this target across the street if they could park their cars in the parking lot overnight for a few days. she says the manager agreed. but the first night they were parked there, everyone's cars got towed. gone. martha says the target manager said there was a miscommunication with the tow company and agreed to cover the tow bills. but she says that didn't happen. so she turned to us. we asked target what happened. it investigated and a few weeks later, it told us we apologize for any confusion caused by the situation. additionally we have reimbursed towing fees for those who were impacted. martha says that came to $1880 for everyone. we're glad target stepped up and covered those expensive towing fees. got a consumer complaint? call us any time or visit nbcbay

nbc bay area marianne favro joins us with a story you'll only see on nbc bay area. >> reporter: this is a problem throughout the south bay, jessica. the concern is that people put out rat poison to kill rodents and end up killing other animals too. >> this dead deer was disturbing enough for los gatos woman to find in front of her home. but a few days later, she spotted this dead turkey. >> right down there. >> reporter: this woman also lives in los gatos. she shows us where she found a dead baby opossum last month. >> it didn't have obvious injuries. >> reporter: this bobcat was brought here to wild life center of silicon valley. they believe he was poisoned. fortunately he survived. he's one of six poisoned bobcats brought to the center in the last two years, a significant increase from previous years. >> the problem with people leaving out rat poison is that it's very prevalent. animals are very likely to come upon it. >> reporter: laura hawkins says there are more humane alternatives for people trying to get rid of rodents. >> one is making sure that you keep all pet food inside.
