has bee olympic history, then there are olympians, unknowns, outside colorado not many know emma coburn but she is wearing a bronze medal. cheryl preheim joins us from rio, you learned emma wasn't spending her entire life focused on olympic glory, kind of start would a family that was determined not to be couch potatoes. >> reporter: exactly, it was that simple. the coburns were not the family trying to find the competitive sports league or narrow down the a scholarship, it was really just about being active, having family time, enjoying the outdoors in their small mountain town. from crested butte, colorado, to rio de janeiro, we sat with emma after the race with the bronze medal hanging around her neck. >> growing up there was adventure and athletic activities without even really realizing it. had we would climb 14ers and back pack and do all sorts of colorado sports. i think all of that just played such a role in my athletic development as a kid, that now the fact that i am a runner who also has to jump over things is kind of like, you know, me being a kid jumping in the river or jum
