we are live this morning from danville. we'll send it back to you on the news desk. >> all right, james, thank you for bringing that to us live. the catholic diocese of oakland has submitted a plan to the bankruptcy court to create a survivor's trust for hundreds of people who filed claims of sexual abuse. the diocese of oakland reports it has received 345 claims of abuse. the bankruptcy plan states the diocese would take out a loan and use cash resources and sell a 122 acre property in livermore in order to fund that survivor's trust. the diocese estimates it can fund between 160 million to $198 million for compensation to the victims. now the bishop for the catholic diocese of oakland sent a statement that reads in part, we want to honor our obligation to survivors. we recognize that no amount of money can fully and satisfactorily compensate survivors for the abuse they suffered. the diocese will need the bankruptcy court to approve the plan before taking any action. >> our time now 738. a san francisco civil rights icon

now, over in the east bay, danville celebrated veterans day with a free breakfast for veterans. the danville town council hosted a pancake breakfast this morning at the veterans memorial building. all complimentary included vets on active duty and their families as well. the town council also opened the memorial building and set up booths for people to learn more about u.s. troops. throughout history, veterans say they can feel the appreciation and the support, especially as the city works so closely on projects with the veterans association. i think it's outstanding that town council here is completely supportive of everything we do. when we made a deal to re modernize this building, the town came in with half the money and the veterans raised the other half. now, in just 30 minutes, the council and the city mayor will light the mount diablo beacon to honor those who have served. now there are several restaurants around the bay area honoring veterans with meal deals giveaways. we have a full list on our website, nbc bay area .com. all right, mister newsom goes to washington. go

it is chilly in danville. good morning to you. 43 and in the north bay. we've got 42 in santa rosa, but with a little wind. 60 in napa. gorgeous view from mount tam. so breezy winds today. a combination of those north northeasterly winds and a weak onshore flow. but above 1000ft, they'll be gusty offshore and looking at our forecast for tomorrow, wednesday and thursday morning, we have a red flag warning pretty much for the entire bay area. and then over the weekend, a few more clouds in the morning, the low clouds and fog. and then afternoon sun. you see eclipse from the red flag warning will be point raised. parts of the marin county coastline, but the rest of us will experience anywhere from 20 to 30 mile an hour wind gusts with gusts up to 50 miles an hour. sustained winds 20 to 30 miles an hour, bringing the relative humidity down to 14%. so certainly critical conditions. now, while we have the moderate conditions today, you'll notice that most of the area doing okay, but we're already dry from yesterday's sustained winds out of the northeast. so as

oakland say emeryville and danville.ernoon, but by the later afternoon, the front has exited the south bay. and we'll be looking at maybe a few light showers behind it. but overall, we'll have sunny skies and rainfall amounts. most of it will fall in the upper elevations over a quarter of an inch, maybe 4/10, and the rest of us a 10th to 2/10. so not a whole lot out there. we have a very dry air mass at this front. has to push on through. so once again a lot of the rainfall has been falling in the pacific northwest, stopping this after the rain moves in on monday. so you see we still have that 10th to 2/10 around the bay. but as we go through the rest of the workweek, there are rain chances throughout the bay. but it doesn't really add up to much, most of it to the north of us. highs today, then mid 60s in oakland. look for about 65 in napa, upper 60s in fremont, a few areas hitting about 70 in concord today, 72 in livermore. the accuweather seven day forecast. some sunshine today, wet, breezy and cooler tomorrow with ou

hasn't really budged in danville. some areas still in the 30s.pper 30s today in the sierra nevada. you can see the cloud cover there. but in the 50s for sunday, where we get increasing clouds all across the bay and into the mountains. so clear and cold to start this afternoon. we still have the rough surf, mainly sunny to start. and then looking at those clouds building throughout the later part of the day. spotty light showers with a level one system tomorrow. here's a look at our surf right now. this lasts through 11:00 with the breakers 12 to 18ft, but they're beginning to subside. it has been really fierce along the shoreline. and to add that we have our coastal flood advisory that has really been playing havoc with some of the areas along the bayshore here, parking lots, sloughs, marshes, the typical spots at 1043, the high tide over seven feet. so keep that in mind, bringing in a very weak light. level one tomorrow with the king tides. there. some minor flooding were nice and sunny throughout much of the day. then a few high clouds. this is

the town of danville is supporting small businesses today. they're going to have plenty of downtown boutiques and shops that will be open fri. i love danville tote bags will be available for shoppers at select stores and on the peninsula. the seaside merchants association is hosting an event in pacifica. more than 50 bay area businesses will set up shop down palmetto avenue. there's going to be live music, fun events, free food that runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and so this small business saturday, of course, comes after a busy black friday in the bay area, and the outlet mall was the place to be in livermore yesterday. that sky seven video there showing you what looks to be every parking spot occupied at the san francisco premium outlets. and there's a traffic gridlock backed up along interstate 580. and there were long lines of people waiting to get into most of the stores. it was a similar scene at santana row in san jose. parking lots were crowded and so were nearby streets. many stores offered exclusive deals for early risers. black friday
