"they did the right thing, they called 911 and our crews were in good position to be able to, well, save the man's life. " jazzy says if anyone ever has the chance to do something like this you should do it. she also said she felt proud that she could help her community. people were encouraged to bring cans to a shooting range in hiawatha. this time they weren't to eastern iowa. highs today will generally be in the 70-75 range from northeast to southwest. plan on a southwest wind of 10-15 mph. overall, it's tough to beat this in november! this

today is election day, and across eastern iowa voters will choose city council members and make other local decisions. one choice for voters... is if the cedar rapids public library see additional funds. the library wants voters to approve a levy of 27 cents for one thousand dollars of the assessed taxable valuation of a home. that would cost the owner of a cedar rapids home valued at 150- thousand dollars an extra 23 dollars a year. this levy would raise an estimated one-point-six million dollars each year for the library. board members say if they don't get the funding, the library could close one day a week. also on the ballot in cedar rapids are those vying for the at-large and district candidates for city council. voting officials in johnson county will be extra watchful during today's city elections. they want to make sure "poll watchers" are following state law. johnson county auditor travis weipert says he's heard some candidates in university heights and iowa city will have poll watchers at voting locations. these people can contest a person who filled it out is not eligible
