we know the gas line has been capped off, but the bigger problem now for people is that their gas service hasn't been restored yet. >> yeah. and have to go door-to-door to restore that service this morning. might take some time and some heavy equipment arrived to try to assess the damage here and make some repairs. but it will take a while. some headaches this morning for a lot of ofolks here in moraga to try to get up and go to work and take that shower, might be a little cold this morning. the sinkhole remains a big concern and the sinkhole ruptured a four-inch gas distribution line as crews spent all repairing that line, but it forced emergency responders to ord arshelter in place and to evacuate several businesses here. the leak, again, has been capped. the sinkhole remains and that huge, it's a huge concern for locals. it will be closed for the foreseeable future and crews need to find out how extensive the damage is and if the sinkhole compromised other parts of the boulevard. it had those crews working around the clock. >> we're going to be bringing in about 100 of our gas service

now, still about 500 customers without gas. pg&e did leave red tags on the doors of those that weren't home and with a number to call. 100 workers going back out to those neighborhoods to try to turn the gas back on for those customers. just a matter of whether those customers are home or not. this deep sinkhole formed sunday evening. the city of moraga believed it was caused by rushing water by a collapsed storm drain underneath. the traffic light fell straight through and pierced a four inch gas line. so, that's why you had this issue without service being needing to be restored. so, again, the intersection where we're standing right now is shut down. the latest estimate we have from last night, several days to get the actual hole repaired. pg&e wants to have the gas service restored by today. again, just a matter of those customers being home. the pilot lights are relit properly and the gas is turned back on properly, as well. reporting live here in moraga, bob redelll "today in the bay." >> we can see your breath in the air
